Steamship Mariposa arrived New York, March 26, [captain] Quick,
New Orleans Mar 9, Havana 13th, Norfolk 19th, and Fortress Monroe 24th with mdse and passengers
to [agents] C. K. Garrison. Experienced heavy weather the entire passage;
was detained 5 ds at Fortress Monroe by N.E. gales and thick weather.
The Mariposa has on board 150 Brazilian emigrants. wrecked on brig Derby, off Cuba. (1)

Left New Orleans for New York October 5, 1870 and is supposed to have been lost on or about
October 9, 1870 on east coast of Florida. No passengers on board; crew of 35 lost. (2)
