In Loving Memory
“Rodney Clay Duran”
April 26, 1975 - March 1, 1999

I'd like you to meet my son, Rodney. He was born in Gainesville, GA on April 26, 1975. Oh what a wonderful day that was. He was a beautiful 6lb 9oz bouncing baby boy. The joy he brought into my life is the most precious gift I've ever received.

Rodney was a very compassionate and passionate young man. He cared deeply for his family and all his dear friends. He also enjoyed music, cruising, shopping, racing, tattoos, girls, and pretty much anything else he thought cool. He loved to have a good time.

Rodney's favorite pastime was racing. He loved anything that you could ride. From the time he was able to peddle something he was on it and I do mean anything. Big wheels, bicycles, skate boards, motor cycles, 4-wheelers, go karts, cars, and trucks..... he loved them all.

Rodney had a natural humility about him. He could make you laugh until you thought you might burst wide open. He was very particular about things as well. His clothes, hair, and all ...as he would say his stuff... they had to be just so-so.

Rodney exuberated love....and what a tremendously special gift love is........Love makes the world go round, love melts our hearts, love grows and grows and grows, love never stops.

But love can break your heart and on March 1, 1999, the most precious gift I ever had was gone. Things were not always perfect because depression is real. Rodney at the age of 18, within an 8 month period of time lost 3 dearly special friends. This affected him in a way that I only as a bereaved parent today now understand.

Rodney is “Forever 23”.

I ask that you not remember how Rodney left this world, but remember the joy and happiness he brought to everybody who knew and loved him. I'll never while on this earth know what he was thinking that day. I have to believe with all my heart that for one split second in time he didn't know what he was doing. Rodney would have never wanted us to hurt the way we do because he loved us and we know he did .

We miss our son and love him dearly. I know the love we share and the time we had together and all the special memories are worth more than anything on this earth. One day we will all be together again where there are “NO MORE TEARS IN HEAVEN”.

Thank you for taking the time to meet our wonderful and precious son Rodney Clay Duran.
“The Wind Beneath Our Wings.”

loving and blessed mother of Rodney
