As I am sitting here on this Friday night after midnight I am remembering a Christmas Eve that Rodney, myself, and his step father (who he always called daddy or Ludwell) left for Daytona Beach to attend a National Go Kart Championship. It was our first trip to an event this large. We were local track racers and had no idea what we were up against. When we arrived at the track there were 1400 Karts . The class Rodney was racing in stock lite had 145 entries and only 30 would make the main event. Well, qualifying began and I can assure you being the nervous mother that I was, I was so excited for him. He was grinning from ear to ear and all he wanted was to make the main event.... He did make the main event and came home with a 7th place finish. We were so proud of him, he drove his heart out that night and the smile on his face , the high 5ing , and the hugging was something that just came so natural. Oh how I long to see that beautiful smile, feel the warmth of his hugs, and to hear the most precious words of all moma I love you. We love you Rodney and miss you so much our heart aches. But the memories we have will last forever and the love we know still continues to grow.......... Love to you always, Moma and Ludwell
