Synchrotron Wench for Hire

What is this synchrotron wench service??
I am offering to accompany you to a scientific facility, work like a dog (relatively), stay up all night tending to the experiment, help you to stay up all night to tend to the experiment, help trouble shoot alignment (and other) problems, write programs to help allow real-time data analysis, etc.....

Basically I can be another set of hands, eyes, and ears if your synchrotron-travelling group is small or your experiment complex. I can learn as much about the science as you want to provide more complete assistance. Or I can function more as a gopher-technician.

I can also bring mid-night snacks and music.


What qualifications do you have for such work?
well, besides the silly piece of paper (PhD Physics, Berkeley)....
I’ve done experiments at SSRL, ALS, NSLS, ESRF, and APS.
I learn alignment and analysis software quickly.
Fine motor and microscope skills.
I’m good at working nights and/or altering my sleep schedule.

Will you dress like a wench?
... for a price. some facilities forbid going barefoot, though. (and depending on your experiment it might not be a good idea.)
