NBC's Tom Browncow: Well here we are at the true end of the Millennium, after several lawsuits, a few dart contests, and 37 ballot recounts; Jesse 'The Body' Ventura is now President of the United States. And now an update; last year we brought you the story about a family in Southern California and it is time to check in with them. Here's ABC's Maria Shaver.
Maria: Thanks Tom. It has been about a year since we brought you this story on the Herr's.
Tom: I just said that.
Maria: Thanks Tom. We go now to the Herr house to check in with the Herrs.
(At the Herr house) Hi Mr. Herr.
Rob: Call me Rob.
Maria: Hi Mr. Rob. Some of your critics would say that you haven't put in as much effort as you usually do in your Yearly Christmas Letter this year as in years passed. Your response?
Rob: Obviously. Now here's Jennifer.
Jennifer: Well, we've been busy, we just bought a house from Rob's Parents, the house he grew up in, and we haven't had a lot of time.
Eliel: (pulling Jennifer's shirt) I want eggs!
Jennifer: Just a minute!
Rob: There is much to do around the house, and that has taken up all of our time and sapped my creativity and patience.
Maria: Sharlean is in 7th grade now, is she still as active in sports?
Jennifer: Oh, yes. She is playing softball, volleyball, soccer and basketball.
Sharlean: (looking up from the TV) No, Shyann is not playing volleyball Mom. I do. And I play the flute.
Jennifer: I was talking about you.
Shyann: I'm Shyann, and I'm in basketball and softball, and you know that game with the ball- it's like not a basketball or a football- like a round ball with some black on it? I play that sometimes too. Fieldball.
Maria: You mean soccer?
Shyann: Yeah, soccer.
Jennifer: Pryce! Trebor! Come here. (Eliel standing on her feet) Eliel, let go of me!
Trebor: I am in furst grade.
Rob: You mean first.
|
Trebor: That's what I said; furst.
Pryce: What Mom? Pokemon is on.
Maria: Hello, Pryce, what have you been doing?
Pryce: Nothin', I don't know. Playing gameboy and doing karate I guess.
Trebor: And hitting me.
Pryce: Oh, yeah? I'm going to sock you! (they run out)
Rob: Boys! Get back here! I'll be right back.
Maria: You amaze me, Jennifer. You take care of this entire house and have not lost your mind.
Jennifer: Thank you, I relieve stress by playing racquetball. I was ranked seventh in the Nation. My secret to doing it all is...
Maria: And we'll be right back.
