Pinewood Derby!!! Need I say more.
Remember cars must be built from the kit that was given to you in November of 2002.
You cannot use a car from prior years.
Rules and regulations will be printed in the newsletter, and also on the web page.
Fairfield Pinewood Derby will be held on Saturday January 19, 2002.
Check in time starts at 6:15 p.m. and ends at 6:40 p.m.
Racing will start at 6:45 p.m.sharp.
Racing will end around 7:30 a.m.
Late entries will not be allowed to race, (Sorry) If you are going to have trouble getting the Pinewood Derby car to the church by 6:15 p.m. contact your child's' den leader to drop off the car prior race day.
Your Pinewood car number was on the rules page that was given out with the car. If you misplaced your car number please contact your Den Leader.
Review of the RULES:
1. Only official Cub Scout Grand Prix Pinewood Derby wood, wheels, and axles are permitted (In the Pinewood Derby Cub Scout Kit provided).
2. Only dry lubrication is permitted.
3. Details, such as steering wheel and driver, are permissible as long as these details do not exceed the maximum length, width and weight specifications.
4. Width of the car shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.
5. Length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
6. Weight of the car shall not exceed 5 ounces.
7. After the final approval by the Pinewood Derby committee the cars can not be touched.
8. You can NOT add lubrication once the race starts.
9. Nobody is allowed to touch the vehicles except the designated committee members.
10. - Note the cars can be as tall as you want as long as it does not exceed the 5-oz weight. The Cub Scout must have built the car this year from the kit.
