Welcome to the Home Page for Driffield Wanderers afc, a pub team from the Driffield and District Football league .Wanderer's were founded in 1984 from the old factory side Twydales Turkey 2nds , over the last 20yrs Wanderers have built up an image of the underdogs, the team having limited success over the years, relegation form one league to another being at times a yearly fixture,but it has not been all doom and gloom, Wanderers have also had their fair share of glory.League championships and cup final victory's but above all the spirit of the club never dies win,lose or draw Wanderers always put a team out on a Saturday afternoon ,and over the next few pages ,we will take a look back over the years with reports,photo and match results about this local Driffield club
This site is also a tribute to Steve Douthwaite Wanderers manager from 1986-1997 who sadly died at the end of the 1997 season aged 38 |
