This here is a "breather filter, what it does is keep the oil from getting into the intake hose to the turbo, from factory its just a straight line that goes from the valve cover, to the intake, and when the oil gets into the intake it goes through the trubo, into the intercooler, causing it to loose efficiency(as it wasnt bad enough alredy), and into the engine, so the air is polluted and detonation will lose efficiency too, so what i did at first was just get a normal breather filter.
You can see it right there in the valve cover, its the little filter, it works fine and dandy, the problem is that when too much oil gets into it,  it starts dripping all over the engine, so that had to go. At the end what i did was go to Pepboys, and get a see-through in-line fuel filter, which costs about $2.50, and ran the same factory line from the valve cover to the intake hose, but i tapped it in the middle and inserted the fuel filter. Now u have the same effect as the breather filter above, with out the dripping, and since its see-through u can tell when its time to empty it out, cause its reusable too.  Thas all, hope it helps, it might not be Greddy or HKS but it sure beats the hell out of paying 40-50 for a breather filter from the "pros".
