Notes on the Book of Daniel

author's name robert roberg

I must tell you at the beginning that I am a Student of the Bible and not a theologian. I follow Yahveh the God of Abraham and Yahshuah. I don't claim to be 100% correct and am open to your advice.

Daniel is a tale of Eight Religions

1. The Lion Cult

2. The Bear Cult

3. The Ram Cult

4. The Goat Cult

5. The Leopard Cult

6. State Worshipers

7. The Camel Cult

8. The Yahveh Cult

The Yahveh Cult

The story of the Bible is the story of the Yahveh cult. These were the children of Abraham who like Abraham were known for their loving ways, their peacefulness, and their observance of the Noahic law to shed no human blood. They never engaged in idolatry and when Elijah told Yahveh to kill him because he was the only faithful one left, Yahveh rebuked him and said I have 7,000 in Israel who have not bowed their knees to Baal. They are that group of Jews who were known as The Faithful Remnant. Only this Remnant of the the children of Abraham will be saved.

"Isaiah also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved." (Romans 9:27).

"Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah". ( Isa 1:9)

The symbols of the Yahveh cult are the lamb and the dove. At the time of Daniel the Faithful Remant were prisoners in Babylon earnestly praying for the coming of the Messiah.

The Lion Cult

The Lion Cult reached it's zenith under Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon. In 612 BC Cyaxares the Mede (the Bear Cult) united with Nebuchadnezzar to overthrow the Assyrian Empire. Five years later Nebuchadnezzar destroyed Jerusalem and killed one third of the Yahveh Cult, the rest were either scattered to other nations or brought to Babylon for seventy years of slavery. The Lion Cult represents the Head of gold on the statue.

The Bear Cult

The Bear Cult first appears uniting itself with Nebuchadnezzar who married the daughter of Cyaxares. This is the religion of the Scythians, or Medes as the Greeks called them. This cult was able to Unite with Cyrus II when he overthrew Babylon. The Bear Cult split it's power between Babylon and Persia , but had it's greatest influence in Persia where the Religion was called Medeo-Persian. (549-330 BC)

The Ram Cult

The Ram Cult came out of Persia with Cyrus II in 549 BC In the city of Shusha the Prime Minister Haman unsuccessful tried to exterminate the Faithful Remnant of the Yahveh Cult by exterminating the entire Jewish population. The Ram Cult of the Persians represents the Arms and chest of silver on the statue.

The Goat Cult

goat with one horn

The Goat cult came from Macedonia (Greece). In 330 BC Alexander the great conquered Medeo-Persia. He did not live to enjoy it for at age 32 he died in Babylon leaving no heir. His chief General Seleucus took over in Babylon but his other three top generals demanded land and so after four battles Alexander's realm was divided four ways (the four horns on the Goat )

In 169 BC out of the Babylonian branch of Alexander's realm came Antiochus anes IV. He conquered Jerusalem. He is the Little Horn "a king of fierce countenance". He ended the temple worship, forbade circumcision, he took away the Sabbaths and the feasts, He burned every scroll of scripture. He set up an idol to Zeus (Moloch) and sacrificed pigs to it. This pig sacrificing is called "The Abomination of Desolation" in 1 Maccabee 1:57. He ordered that any Jew following the Torah was to burned alive.Like Haman Antiochus Epiphanes IV was trying to destroy the Faithful Remnant of the Yahveh Cult by exterminating every Jew. He planned to "wipe out their very memory." (1 Maccabee 3:36).

Five years later Antiochus Epiphanes IV was dead and had failed. Before he could fulfill his plan he received news of the Armenian invasion threatening Babylon and left Israel. Before he withdrew however his troops were involved in some battles with Jewish rebel fighters under Yehudah Maccabee.

The Leopard Cult

Outside of the Yahveh Cult there were as many Jews as the sands of the sea. But they did not fear, nor serve , Yahveh. They were violent murderers, thieves and Sabbath breakers just like their ancestors had been. Such a rag tag, renegade group was the one that formed around Yehudah Maccabee. Taking the scripture

"Arise and thresh O daughter of Zion for I will make thine horn Iron." (Micah 4:13)

The Maccabees were not from the line of David and had no right to assume leadership. Neither were they from the Line of Zadok and had no right to act as high priests. Their first act was to declare that the Sabbath was no longer binding in times of war (1 macc.2:41), Their next travesty was to begin a rapid slaughter of any Jews they thought might have bowed to the Greek Idols, or were partakers of Greek customs. This was a veiled attempt to destroy the Faithful Remnant of the Yahveh Cult.

Imagine Jews massacring Jews in the name of Yahveh. How contrary to the spirit of Abraham. Their next sin was to make an alliance of friendship with the idol-loving Romans (1 Macc. 8:17), and they even went to the violest of all idolaters the Nabateans. These were the Ant People of Petra who had turned Solomon to child sacrifice and cannibalism. The Maccabees called them our "friends the Nabateans" (1 Macc. 8::36). One of the Maccabee brothers, Yohanan was made the high priest .When he died another brother Simon became the High Priest.

Simon erected seven pyramids over Jonathan's grave. What kind of sorcery is that? Simon and his sons were assassinated at a banquet in Dok and it is written "Simon and his sons were drunk." (1 Macc.16:16). No wonder the Jews have not included these Books of the Maccabees in their holy scriptures. Each year they celebrate the Macabees at Hanukah time. They celebrate their military victories, but they don't really want the children to know what kind of men they really were.

These Maccabean Jews represent that part of the statue made of Iron. The Leopard Cult is the Rogue Military Jews of Israel .

We know the Leopard is identified with Israel because Solomon identifies Israel as the "Mountains of the Leopards" (Song 4:8).

The Leopard Cult enjoyed about seventy years of power until the Romans under Gnaeus Pompey returned in 63 B.C and took control of Israel. Knocked down but not out, these Leopards comprised the parties of the Pharisees and Sadducees who killed the Messiah in 33 A.D.

leopard with seven heads

From four heads in Daniel the Leopard grows to a beast with seven heads in Revelation 13:2, where it wages intense war against the Faithful Remnant.

In the Book of Acts we read how the Faithful Remnant of the Yahveh Cult accepted Yahshuah, the Lamb of Natzaret, as their Messiah and how the Leopard Cult killed them so relentlessly that they had to flee to foreign lands. We read how the Leopard Cult even pursued them into these foreign lands and slaughtered tens of thousands of them. History tells us that in 70 AD Vespasian Titus of Rome destroyed Jerusalem and gave the main head of the Leopard a fatal wound. But John tells us that in the latter days, the head would revive. In 1948 Israel became a warlike nation. The Leopard Cult is back and still has the same plan. Their goal is to "Eliminate the Yahveh Cult of Yahshuah."

The Beast with Iron Teeth and Eleven Horns

bust of Jupiter

Jupiter Chief god of Rome

Rome is the beast with Iron Teeth and Ten Horns. This beast is different from the others in that the Romans were not really as adamant about religion as they were about Roman Law and Government. They were the State Worshippers. Pietas, gravitas, justicia were their guiding lights: Duty, Seriousness and Justice. Daniel says this beast will seek to change times and laws. The Romans imposed their calendar based on their false gods and their law system on all nations under their rule.

"Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet." (DA 7:19)

The residue here is the faithful remnant of the Yahveh cult. Rome took over where the Antichrist Jews left off and threw all the power within its realm to the elimination of the faithful Remnant who were now called Christians.

In the Beginning The Beast Has Only 10 horns

Eusebius 260-340 AD was an eyewitness to much of the killings of this Beast with Iron Teeth. He writes in his book Church History of Ten Roman Emperors who tried to kill the faithful remnant of the Yahveh cult who follow Yahshauh. They are as follows:

1.Nero 68 AD

2. Domitian 96 AD

3. Trajan 117 AD

4. Marcus Aurelius AD

5. Septimus Severus 121 AD

6. Gaius Julius Verus Maximus 238 AD

7. Decius 251 AD

8. Valerian 260 AD

9. Aurelian 275 AD

10. Diocletian/Maximian 305 AD

The Eleventh Horn

bust of constantine

In 313 AD Constantine became the Emperor. He is the little horn with eyes like the eyes of a man and a mouth speaking great things. He is the eleventh horn that appears in Daniel 7:8.

Constantine was far more deadly than all the other ten kings for in what the others could not do by violence, he did by guile. Constantine convinced the Faithful remnant that he had seen a vision of a cross as he was attacking Rome and was told to conquer Rome in the sign of the cross. He ended all persecution against Christians and made it the official religion of his empire with one caveat, Christians were now required to serve in the Military. Constantine took the lambs of Yahshuah and converted them into the eagles of Rome.

No Christian leaders prior to Constantine allowed Christians to be soldiers. In fact they all spoke strongly against it.

155 AD Polycarp called upon the Philippians to obey the words of Peter "Not rendering evil for evil, or blow for blow."

174 AD Tertullian "shall it be lawful to make an occupation in the army when the Lord proclaims that he who uses the sword shall perish by the sword?...If a soldier gets converted he must abandon the military immediately."

200 AD The Apostles Regulations say donations are not to be accepted from evil doers such as "soldiers and dishonest merchants ".

215 A.D. Clement of Alexandria "For it is not in war but in peace that we are trained."

253 A.D. Origen of Alexandria "we no longer take up swords against nations, nor do we learn war anymore, but are become children of peace."

295 AD a man named Maximilian was executed for refusing to serve in the Roman army. He said. "I can not serve for I am a Christian."

300 A.D. The Apostolic Order says "Converts must give up sorcery and soldiering."

310 AD Arnobius said that Non-resistance had been the position of the Church from the beginning.

Except for a faithful remnant among the faithful remnant who refused to believe the Constantinian lie, the coup was a success. Those who followed Constantine absorbed the spirit of Anti-Christ. They were no longer followers of Yahshuah except in name only.

The Council of Nicea

But on a deeper, more insidious level Constantine convened the infamous First Council of Nicea at which he proclaimed that Jesus was to be worshipped as God. At no point prior to Constantine was Jesus considered to be God. Neither Peter nor Paul nor any of the New Testament writers saw God as having two or three persons. The Jews and early Christians were all monotheists until Constantine taught them to worship the man Jesus as God. No wonder Daniel was ill and took to his bed after having seen this horrifying vision of the future, and the sucess of the Fourth Beast.

He "made war with the saints and prevailed against them" (Dan.7:21)

But Rome Was Not Part of Nebuchadnezzar's Statue

Although Daniel sees the Roman Beast in the Fourth position in his dream it is not the same as the Fourth Kingdom in Nebuchadnezzar's dream of the statue. The Fourth Kingdom of the Nebuchadnezzar's statue does not correspond to the Fourth Beast in Daniel's dream. This has caused many scholars to go astray. If Betty has a dream of four dolls and Susie has a dream of four icecream cones, you can't say they are the same just because they share the number four. Daniel dreamed of four animals and Nebuchadnessard dreamed of a statue made of five elements; gold, silver, copper, iron and clay. There is no way that daniels Fourth Beast can be part of the statue for the Roman beast in Daniel's dream dies an early death, while in Nebuchadnezzar's dream all of the kingdoms survive until the final day when they are all destroyed at the same moment. In describing his dream of the beasts Daniel sees the fourth beast slain.

"I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time." (Dan.7:11-12)

Rome was destroyed in 476 AD when the German king Odoacer sacked Rome and deposed the young Roman Emperor Romulus Augustus. He was the last emperor of Rome. And even though Charlemagne and even some German kings tried to claim that they were Caesar's or Kaisers. They never really were. The Roman Empire never revived; nor will it. When Yahveh burns something with fire, it is finished forever.

The Camel Cult

mother and baby camel

In Nebuchadnezzar's dream the Iron Kingdom, which I have said is Military Rogue Israel, continues down the legs and into the feet of the statue. However when it reaches the feet it becomes mingled with clay. If you do a Strong's Concordance word search for clay you will learn that in the Bible clay is associated with Arabia. When Solomon was firing the vessels for his temple he would use no other clay except that which came from Arabia.

"In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan." (1 Kings 7:46)

Succoth is on the lower eastern Sinai and Zarthan is below the dead sea, below Petra. This whole region in the Bible is called Arbia, the South, the Wilderness, and the Sea of the desert. It was here that the Arabic speaking Nabateans who had come out of their empire in Babylon worshipped their god Allat. Their altars were black cube stones, their priests drank no wine, ate no pork and their sacred symbol was the moon. Is this a coincidence that many ancient graveyards near Mecca are filled with Nabatean graves? Their sacred animal was the Camel and even today Muslims sacrifice camels to Allah (Eid ul-Adha).

Daniel says neither of these two kingdoms will gain the dominance over the other. Jews and Arabs have been trying to overthrow each other since 622 AD when Muhammad delivered the Koran. These two religions are as mingled as the toes on feet. They are both circumcised. They both claim Abraham as their father. Neither eats pork. Both look to the Old Testament Prophets. Both offer animal sacrifices although without a temple the Jew's sacrifices are suspect. They both allow polygamy and slavery. Both believe in Jihad or Holy War. And Both have been actively trying to destroy the Faithful Remnant of the Yahveh Cult.

The Stone

The good news is that at the end of Nebuchadnezzar's dream he sees a stone come flying which strikes the statue on it's feet and the entire statue is smashed to oblivion. The stone is Yahshuah the son of Yahveh. The risen man who as an immortal man sits at the right hand of Yahveh in heaven. Those who love Yahveh and serve Yahshuah by keeping his words and love everyone -including their enemies, can also have immortality.
