A sad Robert...
As his Valentine's gift, Robert attemtped his mom's cake recipe. As you can see, his frosting didn't come out quite right... |

I'm melting...
A close-up shot of the avalanche and mudslide. It may look a bit odd, but it tasted wonderful... |

Third time's the charm... or not...
Ok, so it's turned upside down and is in a bowl... but it's still a yummy chocolate cake with extra-sugary icing... |

Success is mine...
A happy Robert shows off his latest bowl-cake creation. Hey mom, isn't this how it's supposed to look??? |

I forgot to take pictures of all the food I cooked. We started the evening with shrimp cocktail. We decided to skip the salads because there was so much food. I actually pulled apart a chicken (without gloves) to make the pasta dish (recipe from epicurious.com) and chopped fresh basil and everything. It was incredibly yummy and fed us for several meals. I'll definitely be adding it to my recipe box. As for Robert's cake, his mom has informed him that he will be making one for her the next time he's home so she can figure out what keeps going wrong. This was his third "bowl-cake." |
