2005 Progress # 2
3/16/05  - Work begins on shifter linkage

Project Notes:

Things have slowed down due to weather and trying to correct the fore mentioned paint spots on the car. The good news is that the spots have been fixed and focus is turning to the interior. We are happy to announce that the THE SHIFTER LINKAGE has been mounted to the transmission tunnel inside the car. Our car was a column shift car from the factory, but we wanted a console. This required precise drilling and cutting of the metal on the trans tunnel that runs between the two front seats in which to mount the shifter linkage and associated boot that covers the hole. We needed a few more parts for the installation that did not come with our console and shifter E-Bay purchase. RHMJr will bring his restored console that covers the linkage and shifter out to the project site very soon for measurement of its mounting brackets.
3/21//05  - Interior R/T Emblems Mounted, Trans Tunnel Hole Drilled & Needed Shifter Linkage arrives from Tom and Patty's MOPARS, Mirror installed and Door Handle Goes on. Whew!

2/15/05 - Console Carpeting is On

While we are waiting for the repaired and repainted hood to cure, RHM JR decided it was time to match the interior carpet extensions to the console.

3/25/05  - Dash goes In!

It is a big day when the dash goes back in the car.  We anticipate the rewiring of the dash to be a long process. In the immediate future the goal will be to install the new ignition switch and get it mounted in the lower dash pad.
