I Chose electric over mechanical for both cost and ease of installation. The sending unit is tied into the VP44 inlet. An 18" grerase gun hose was routed from the VP44 pump to a tee as detailed in the below pictures. While one end of the tee is attached to the grease gun hose, the sending unit is installed in the opposite end and an elbow in the reaming hole. Attached to the elbow is a 7/16"-20 adapter which has been capped off. The cap made it very easy to bleed air and the intent is to reinstall a schrader valve for a test connection.
As fo the dash location, I chose to utilize the pocket. I used 1/2" thick plexiglass and milled it to fit in place while using the 3 existing mounting holes. |
