My ram has a proportioning valve on the rear brakes which increases the rear brakes as heavier loads are applied and the rear squats. The Helwig Helpers will not allow the rear to squat much at all and with the nearly 2" of lift they added, it lowered the proportioning valves arm which inturn decreased braking to the rear wheels. To conter the effects, I used brass hex and threaded the hex rod. I also removed the brake proportioner's connecting rod and sawed it in half and threaded the cut ends. I then assemble the pieces of rod and hex bar stock and reattached them to the truck. |
