Inspired by the... Wonder Of You!
Rest In Peace... Princess!

This is my tribute to my dear friend Rose. I wish I could tell you what she meant to me... she was so much more then the simple words here could ever express.

Before we meet she had already walk in the light of size acceptance. Sharing her special gift for helping those cast in the shadows through the brightness of her kindness, warmth and understanding. She was a true pioneer in the reform of injustice for big people.

When first I saw her... the way she smiled, the way she held her head up high, the way she shinned when she expressed her love for others made the soft curves of her body appear quite beautiful to me.

When first she spoke... all I could do was listen. She had a way of seeing only the best in others. Never had the sound of laughter tasted so sweet!

When we lived together... I use to kid her about all the teddy bears in the bedroom. She had a passion for the silly little stuff characters and each was a treasured friend.

Funny how when she became ill, it was a real comfort to have them around. I found myself talking to them -- telling them not to worry - that she would be coming home soon.

Then came the night when they all seemed to know my words were not true. I remember how I held as many as would fit in my arms at one time and cried and cried until I fell asleep.

My darling friend had taken ill suddenly. She died peacefully at the young age of forty, her hand resting in mine. But that should not distract from the importance of her cause or the beauty in the way she lived her life.

It is however a sad reminder of how fragile even the strong can be. Looking back at how it seemed like my heart couldn't possibility have held one more bit of affection for her and now knowing just how precious life can be and how every moment counts I would have loved her much more.

After all, when you come right down to it, given all of lives disappointments and tribulations.... when you are done chasing the rainbow all that may really be of any value is how we loved and how we were loved!

My Forever Rose ~ The comfort of your hand resting in mine, the peace that came with the words you spoke and the excitement of your soft skin on my lips is forever with me.
