THE TEN LOST TRIBES

Robert Hyatt
1996

1. Around the year 721 B.C., King Shalmanezer over took the kingdom
of Israel and carried 10 tribes into the land of Assyria along
with many from the tribe of Levi. From there they were led into
the lands northward and have been lost to mankind ever since.
. The Tribe of Benjamin remained in Judea and was not carried
away by the Assyrians but was almost wiped out in a battle so
actually Benjamin is also considered a lost tribe.

2. The Twelve tribes that became lost include:
1. Reuben       6. Gad.            11. Ephriam
2. Simeon       7. Asher           12. Mannasa
3. Levi            8. Issachar
4. Dan             9. Zebulon
5. Naphtali     10. Benjamin

3. There is four accepted beliefs as to the where-abouts of the ten
tribes. The following presents four possibilities:
1. In the north countries
2. Spread throughout the Earth
3. Inside the Earth
4. Taken off the Earth altogether
The scriptures tell us that they went to the north countries
and that many would return from the lands of the north. The
other three possibilities deserve some mention. Without
question we can conclude that some members from the various
tribes went their own way, thus the belief in tribes spread
throughout the Earth. The scriptures say that when they come
back, that a highway will be cast up out of the sea and the
tribes will come forth, thus the belief in the center of the
Earth theory. Because they are still lost in this the 20th
century, many believe that they were taken off the Earth
altogether.

4. There are no temples among the lost tribes. When the ten
tribes return, the prophets tell us that they will first
come to Zion (Jackson Co.), to do their temple work, then
many will return to their homelands.

5. There are prophets among the ten tribes for they will bring
their scriptures with them, so that all scripture may be one.

6. Joseph Smith taught that John the Revelator is with the ten
lost tribes.

7. Jesus Christ visited the lost tribes after his visit to the
Nephites in the Americas.

8. The ten tribes will return under the direction of the President
of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They will
bring their records of history and scripture along with enough
gold to pave the streets of Jackson Co.
