BOOK OF MORMON

1 NEPHI:

1: The Prophet Lehi predicts the destruction of Jerusalem.
He also foretells the coming of the Messiah.
2: Lehi and his family depart into the wilderness. Laman
and Lemuel murmur - Nephi and Sam believe their father's
words.
3: Lehi sends his sons back to Jerusalem to obtain the plates
of brass from King Laban. The king refuses to give up the
records. Lehi's sons flee from Laban. Laman and Lemuel
murmur and are reproved by an Angel.
4: Nephi returns and finds Laban drunk and asleep on the ground.
The spirit tells Nephi to slay Laban. Nephi gets the plates
and takes Zoram and his brothers back into the wilderness.
5: Sariah, Lehi's wife complains against Lehi. They all rejoice
over their return. Lehi prophecies.
7: Lehi's sons are sent back to Jerusalem - Ishmael and his
family accompany them into the wilderness.
8: Lehi's dream of the tree of life.
9: Two sets of records: one of the ministry and the other of
rulers, wars, etc.
10-14: Nephi receives a great vision of the future of his people.
He sees the Christ's ministry, the righteousness and downfall
of his people, & America in the latter-days.
15: Lehi's dream of the tree of life is interpreted by Nephi.
16: The sons of Lehi, Zoram & the Daughters of Ishmael marry.
17: Nephi is commanded to build a ship. Laman & Lemuel murmur.
18: The ship is completed - The voyage begun - rebellion on the
ship - a storm at sea - arrival in the promised land.

2 NEPHI:

1: The promised land is blessed for the righteous but is cursed
for the wicked.
2: Opposition necessary in all things - Adam fell that man might
be - The redemption by Christ.
4: Lehi blesses his family - Lehi dies.
5: Nephi, Zoram, Jacob, Joseph, and their wives flee from their
wicked brothers Laman and Lemuel. Laman and Lemuel are
cursed with a dark skin.
6-11: Jacob's teachings are expounded. He cites Isaiah.
12-24: Compare Isaiah Chapters 2 - 14:
25-33: Nephi predicts future events - A sealed book - Latter-day

JACOB:

1: Nephites and Lamanites. The death of Nephi.
2: Jacob preaches against wickedness. Plurality of wives is
forbidden because of iniquity.
3: Many Lamanites are more righteous than the Nephites.
4: The law of Moses among the Nephites.
5: Christ & the olive tree.
7: Sherem denies the Christ - demands a sign - is stricken dumb -
confesses his sins and dies. Hatred of Lamanites and Nephites
begin.

ENOS:

1: A Nephite record to come forth to the Lamanites in the latter-
days.

JAROM:

1: Jarom, son of Enos keeps records. Nephites serve the Lord and
prosper.

OMNI:

1: Comprises records kept by Omni, Amaron, Chemish, Abinadom, and
Amaleki - Mosiah leaves the land of Nephi and finds the land
of Zarahemla which is occupied by the last of the Jaradites.

WORDS OF MORMON:

1: Mormon's abridgment and the smaller plates of Nephi are
explained.

MOSIAH:

1: King Benjamin speaks to his sons. Mosiah chosen to succeed
his father - He receives the records.
2: King Benjamin builds a tower and preaches to the people.
3: Words of King Benjamin continue.
4: Words of King Benjamin continue.
5: People repent upon hearing the words of King Benjamin.
6: King Benjamin dies and Mosiah begins his reign.
7: Expedition to the land of Lehi-Nephi. Lehi-Nephites are
found in bondage to the Lamanites.
8: Ammon learns about a discovery of gold plates. He has them
sent to Mosiah for translation.
11: Wicked King Noah and his priests. The prophet Abinadi
preaches to King Noah and the King seeks his life.
12: Abinadi is casted into prison.
13: Abinadi continues to prophecy in prison.
14: Abinadi quotes Isaiah. Compare Isaiah 53:
15: Abinadi's prophecy continued - Why Jesus Christ is called the
Father and the Son.
16: Abinadi's prophecy continued - Resurrection and Judgement
17: Abinadi is burned by fire. He predicts that King Noah will
die by the same method. Alma is converted.
18: At the waters of Mormon Alma baptizes Helam and many others.
King Noah sends an army to destroy Alma.
19: Noah cannot find Alma and is invaded by the Lamanites.
King Noah suffers death by fire as Alma predicted.
Limni becomes King.
20: The priests of king Noah take some daughters of the Lamanites.
Lamanites seek revenge upon King Limni's people. Limni's
people pacify the Lamanites.
21: Nephites suffer great affliction from the Lamanites. The
Lord softens the hearts of the Lamanites.
22: The Nephites plan to escape from the Lamanites. The border
guards are made drunk and the Nephite people excape from the
yoke of the Lamanites into the forest. They go to the land
of Zarahemla.
23: Alma refuses to be their King. The land of Helam is taken
by the Lamanites. Amulon, leader of the wicked priest
becomes leader of many Lamanites.
24: Amulon persecutes Alma and his people.
25: People of Zarahemla are descendants of Mulek - Alma reads the
records of Mulek to the people at large. The spirit directs
Alma to establish a Church of Christ throughout the land.
26: The Lord instructs Alma how to deal with the unbelievers.
27: Alma, the younger and the four sons of Mosiah are among the
unbelievers. They are miraculously converted and become
preachers of righteousness.
28: Mosiah permits his sons to preach to the Lamanites. The
24 plates are translated. Alma the younger is given the
records.
29: King Mosiah speaks to the people for the last time. He
recommends judges to be elected instead of a King. King
Mosiah dies.

ALMA:

1: Nebor, an enemy of the Church slays Gideon and is executed.
2: Amlici seeks to become King. He is rejected by the majority
of the people but becomes King anyway. He is defeated in
battle and joins the Lamanites. Alma slays Amlici and
strenghtens his forces.
3: More concerning the curse upon the Lamanites.
4: The Church prospers. Nephihah becomes chief Judge.
5-8: Alma bares his testimony and thanks the people for their
continued righteousness.
9: Alma's testimony is rejected by the people in Ammonihah.
10: Amulek's lineage is given. Lehi is a descendant of Joseph
through Manasseh. Amulek tells about his conversion.
11: The Nephite currency is discussed. Zeezrom is confounded by
Amulek.
13: Alma's discourse is continued. Melchizedek and Abraham.
14: Alma and Amulek are imprisoned. The wicked Judge and priest
die as the prison walls crush them to death. Alma and Amulek
are seen coming out of the prison unharmed.
15: Zeezrom is finally converted by a miraculous healing. Alma
and Amulek return to Zarahemla.
16: The wicked city Ammonihah is destroyed by the Lamanites.
17-20: The great missionary story of Ammon in th land of Ishmael.
He converts the entire people of King Lamoni.
21-26: The preaching of Aaron and Muloki to the Lamanites.
27: The People of Anti-Nephi-Lehi go to Zarahemla for safety.
They are called the people of Ammon and are given the land
of Jershon to live.
28: Another great battle between the Lamanites and Nephites.
The Lamanites are defeated.
30: Korihor the Anti-Christ is expelled from Jerson and sent to
Zarahemla for arraignment. He demands a sign and is stricken
dumb and dies shortly thereafter.
31: The Zoramite people worship on the Rameumptom or Holy Stand.
They are reproved by Alma.
32-33: Alma's great discourse on faith.
34: Amulek's testimony is given. Do not procrastinate the day
of your repentence.
36: Alma recalls his sinfall past and conversion.
37: Helaman receives the brass plates and Liahona.
38-42: Alma confronts Corianton his son for his unrighteousness.
Corianton was keeping the people of Zoram from receiving
the Gospel. Spiritual and temporal death.
43-44: The great General Moroni makes a covenant of peace with
the Lamanites.
45: The Nephite extinction is again foretold.
46: Amalickiah conspires to be King but Moroni raises the title
of liberty and Amalickiah flees the land.
47: Amalickiah by treachery, becomes king of the Lamanites.
48: Amalickiah incites the Lamanites against the Nephites.
Moroni prepares his people for war.
49: The Lamanites are astounded by the Nephite preparedness.
50: Moroni fortifies many cities.
51: King-men and freemen. Amalickiah's defeat and death.
52: Ammoron succeeds Amalickiah. Moroni wins great battle
with the help of Teancum and Lehi.
53: The city Bountiful is fortified. Helaman leads two thousand
stripling warriors.
54: Ammoron and Moroni negotiate for prisoners. Ammoron becomes
angry, and will not agree to Moroni's terms.
55: Moroni defeats Ammoron by stratagem. Wins over the city of
Gid without bloodshed.
56: Helaman sends an epistle to Moroni. He tells Moroni about
the strength and courage of the two thousand warriors. None
of them are slain in battle.
57: The two thousand stripling warriors fight valiantly and
overtake the city of Antiparah. Many warriors are wounded
but none are slain.
58: Helaman, Gid and Teomner defeat the city of Manti by
stratagem. The Lamanites withdraw.
59: Moroni writes to Pahoran, asking for reinforcements. Moroni
is upset with the government for their seemingly lack of
concern.
60: Moroni writes again to Pahoran. He demands immediate help.
61: Pahoran's patriotic reply. Pahoran explains to Moroni the
unsettled state of the government and the people.
62: Moroni marches to relieve Pahoran. Zarahemla is recaptured
and Moroni restores order. On the battle front, Teancum
slays Ammoron at the cost of his own death.
63: Shiblon succeeds Helaman. Moroni dies. Hagoth builds many
ships. Many Nephites travel to the north countries by boat
and by land. Helaman son of Helaman recieves the sacred
records.

HELAMAN:

1: Pahoran's sons contend for the judgment-seat. Pahoron the
second becomes judge but is murdered by Kishkumen.
Coriantumr leads the Lamanites into battle but is slain in
Zarahemla by Moronihah's army. Zarahemla is retaken.
2: The son of Helaman is appointed chief Judge. The servant of
Helaman slays Kishkumen. The beginning of secret combinations
and the Gadianton robbers.
3: Many more Nephites travel northward. Helaman dies and his
son Nephi succeeds him. Buildings made of cement.
4: Because of unrighteousness, the city of Zarahemla is taken
and the Nephites escape to the city of Bountiful.
5: Nephi and his brother Lehi devote themselves to the missionary
work and convert many Lamanites. It is the converted
Lamanites that retake the cities that were lost.
6: The Lamanites send missionaries to the Nephites. There is
peace again in the land. The Gadianton robbers kill Cezoram
and his son and seize the government.
7-10: Nephi's prophecy. Nephi is accused of killing the chief
priest but the true Murderer is soon made known. Nephi
continues to preach repentance and warns the wicked of the
impending judgements that will come upon them if they do
not repent.
11: The Gadianton robbers continue their wicked doings. A great
famine comes to the land. The people turn to the Lord and
again prosper. The Gadianton robbers become more active
and deceive many.
12: Moroni gives a commentary on the condition of the people.
13-15: Samuel the Lamanite prophecies from the city wall. He
predicts the coming of Christ and gives signs concerning His
birth. Signs are to come in five years.
16: Some of the Nephites join the Church. The majority reject
Samuel's prophecies. Samuel is protected from many attempts
to take his life. He escapes to his own country.

THIRD NEPHI:

1: Nephi, the son of Helaman departs from Zarahemla and gives
charge of the plates of brass to his son Nephi. The signs
and prophecies of Samuel are fulfilled. Many repent and
believe on his words and join the Church.
2: Wickedness increases. The righteous Lamanites become white
and are called Nephites. United efforts combine to fight
against the Gadianton robbers.
3: Gaddianhi, the leader of the Gadianton robbers demands
surrender from Lachoneus, governor of the land. The Nephites
prepare for battle.
4: The robbers are beaten and Gadianhi is slain. The Nephites
rejoice in their victories.
5: Many Nephites repent and join the Church. Mormon gives an
account of himself and the brass plates.
6: The people prosper but soon become vain in the wealth that
they acquired. Dissension follows.
7: The chief judge is murdered and the government ceases. The
people unite in many tribes according to family groups and
loyalties. Jacob becomes the king of many wicked tribes.
Nephi has much success in the ministry.
8: Tempests, earthquakes, fires, whirlwinds, attest the
crucifixion of Christ as prophecy forefold. Many people
are destroyed and darkness continues for 3 days.
9-10: The voice of Christ proclaims the destruction of many
cities. Christ also proclaims his divinity - All hear his
voice - There is silence for many hours - The darkness ceases.
Only the more righteous remain.
11-28: Jesus Christ visits and ministers unto the people.
11: God the Father introduces his Son by proclaiming him the
Christ. Jesus Christ appears and proclaims his divinity.
The people are allowed to see and feel the wounds suffered
by Christ on the Cross at Calvary. The spirit of contention
is of the devil.
12: Jesus calls the Twelve disciples. Jesus speaks again and
the Sermon on the Mount is retold. Compare Matthew 5:
13: The Savior commands the Twelve. Compare Matthew 6:
14: The Savior's sermon continues. Compare Matthew 7:
15: The Law of Moses is superseded. Jesus fulfills the Law.
Jesus declares those present to be the sheep of another fold
as he declared to the Jews.
16: He tells them that there is yet another fold to hear his
voice. In the last days the Gentiles will here the gospel
first, then the Jews. Isaiah is mentioned.
17: The Savior continues His instruction. The lost tribes of
Israel are also mentioned. He blesses the little children
and heals the sick - A very touching scene.
18: The Sacrament of bread and wine is instituted among the
Nephites. Necessity of prayer - Authority to confer the
Holy Ghost is given to the Twelve.
19: The Names of the Twelve are given. They are baptised.
The Holy Ghost is given. Christ's second visitation.
20: The Bread and wine, miraculously provided & administered.
The Savior proclaims himself to be the prophet spoken of as
"like unto Moses". Many prophets are cited.
21: The Gentiles have a glorious destiny if they keep the
commandments. The New Jerusalem shall be built and the lost
tribes will return and be blessed.
22: The Savoir continues to quote Isaiah. Compare Isaiah 54:
23: The Savior asks that prophecies by Samuel the Lamanite and
other prophecies be entered into the records.
24: The words of Malachi are given to the people. The law of
tithes and offerings is given. Compare Malachi 3:
25: Malachi's words continued. Compare Malachi 4:
The mission of Elijah - The Second Coming.
26: Jesus expounds all things from the beginning to the end.
Babes and children utter marvelous things which cannot be
written.
27: Jesus commands them to name their church after his name.
Men are commanded to repent and be baptized and will be
judged by what is written in the books.
28: The Twelve are granted their hearts desire. Three elect to
stay on the Earth until His Second Coming - immune to any
death or disaster. Christ departs.
29: Mormon gives a warning to those who deny these words.
30: Mormon calls the Gentiles to repentance.


FORTH NEPHI:


1: The Church of Christ flourishes. Nephites and Lamanites are
converted. 200 years of righteousness follow. Amos and
Ammaron both have the plates for awhile.


BOOK OF MORMON:


1: Ammoron instructs Mormon at the age of 10 concerning the
sacred plates. Wars again between Lamanites & Nephites. The
Three Nephites depart out of the land. Wickedness abounds.
2: Mormon leads the Nephite armies at age 16. Mormon obtains
the plates.
3: Mormon refuses to be their leader because of their wickedness.
The 12 Apostles are to judge the 12 tribes of Israel.
4: Lamanites begin to defeat the Nephites at large.
5: Mormon again leads the Nephites but in vain.
6: Nephites gather around Hill Cumorah. Mormon hides the sacred
records in the Hill Cumorah. Nephites are defeated. Hundreds
of thousands are slain.
7: Mormon writes to the Lamanites of the Latter-Days. Mormon
finishes his Fathers records.
8: Book of Mormon to come forth in the Latter-Days.
9: Mormon's discourse to the unbelievers.


BOOK OF ETHER:


FORWARD: The Book of Ether is the record of the Jaredites
taken from the 24 plates found by the people of
Limhi in the days of Mosiah.

1: Moroni abridges the writings of Ether. Ether's geneologies
are given. Brother of Jared during the Tower of Babel times
pleads with the Lord that their language be not confounded
and that they be allowed to depart out of their wicked land.

2: Jaredites prepare to leave on their journey. The Lord talks
to the Brother of Jared.
3: The Brother of Jared sees the finger of the Lord. The stones
become light. The Lord then is obligated to show himself to
the Brother of Jared because of his righteousness. Christ had
a spirit body not of flesh and bones.
4: Moroni seals up much of the writings of the Brother of Jared
because he was permitted to see all things as they would
happen even until the ends of the Earth. These writings will
come again when the Saints are spiritually ready to receive
them.
5: Moroni writes to Joseph Smith concerning the plates and the
Three Witnesses.
6: Journey continues for Jaredites. Vessels are lighted by the
stones. Arrival to America. Jaredites desire a king against
the will of the righteous leaders. Both Jared and the Brother
of Jared die.
7: Orihah reigns many years in righteousness as king, dispite
many contentions by the followers of Shule and Cohor. Prophets
rebuke the wicked and they repent.
8: The righteous King Omer is saddened by the rebellion of his
son Jared. Half the kingdom follow Jared. Secret combinations
are formed. Gentiles in the latter-days are warned against
secret combinations.
9: Righteous King Omer is defeated but regains his kingdom. Emer
a King sees the Christ. Many Prophets cry repentance. Famine
and poisonous serpents in the land.
10: Succession of many kings. When the people are righteous, they
prosper. Lands to the North are inhabited. Lands to the
South are wilderness.
11: Jaredite prophets predict destruction of the people if they
continue in wickedness. The people do not heed their advice.
12: The prophet Ether and the King of the Lamanites, Coriantumr.
The Lord gives men weakness that they may gain strength and
humility. Discourse on Faith, Hope, and Charity. Moroni
sees Christ.
13: Ether prophecies and is cast out. He writes the Jaredite
history. Foretells the destruction of the Jaredites. War
throughout the Land.
14: Iniquity of the people brings a curse upon the Land. Much
bloodshed throughout the land. Coriantumr is not to fall by
the sword.
15: Millions of Jaredites die by the sword. Total destruction
of the Jaredites. Only Coriantumr remains.


Moroni:


1: Moroni by himself writes for the benefit of the Lamanites.
The Nephites who do not deny the Christ are put to death.
2: Moroni writes that Jesus gave the 12 Nephite Apostles power to
confer the Holy Ghost.
3: Concerning the ordination of Priests and Teachers by the
laying on of hands.
4: Mode of administering the Sacramental Bread.
5: Mode of administering the Sacramental Wine.
6: Conditions and Mode of Baptism. Church members who repent
are forgiven.
7: Mormon presents Moroni's teachings on Faith, Hope, and
Charity. Satan persuades men to deny Christ. Prophets
predict the coming of the Christ. Faith precedes the
miracle.
8: Mormon's Epistle to his son Moroni. Little children need not
baptism. Keeping the commandments till the end leads to
salvation.
9: Mormon's second epistle to his son Moroni. Mormon laments
over the episodes that took place between the Nephites and
the Lamanites. Is greatly saddened.
10: Moroni gives the formula for gaining a testimony of the Book
of Mormon. Moroni's farewell to the Lamanites. Moroni seals
up the Book of Mormon and hides it in the Hill Cumorah, to
come forth in the Latter-days.
