Roberts bedroom was downstairs and Joyce liked painting so he got hier to paint some pictures from the Walt Disney books that he had. Joyce also painted on the wall in the toilet. Many of the people that went around were from the church but thre was one that his mother had been friends with that didn't and she lived up the road from the family, Her name was Mearn. Even though she was no relation the kids would call her auntie. Mearn had a son around Peters age and they would play with each other from time to time, Glenys and Robert mainly played with each other as they were the same age.
Guy liked to spoil his family so he went out and bought a boat, this meant that the family could go out on the water together during his time off work. While out one day Guy dropped the keys in the water close to the beach and didn't have spare ones on him, while they waited for someone to gather the spare set from home the kids played on the beach for what seemed like hours. When the keys arrived the day was almost over and the kids were tired. From that moment on the boat keys always had a peice of foam attached to them so they would be able to find them if dropped again |
