Integrator A windows
service to communicate with SAP and update
SQL-Server database at the corporate and
manufacturing plants was written which monitored
a folder in which XI (Exchange Interface) of SAP
can drop an XML file whenever there is any
processing required. The XML file contained
information of what needs to be updated and
which manufacturing plants need to be updated.
MES-SAP Webservice In the plant side
any time raw material was shipped or received,
SAP was updated using a PLC device. This PLC
read the bar-code on the material and SAP was
updated in real time using this web-service
which also updated the corporate database.
Production Tracker Every time an
item is produced in the plant, a unique bar code
is generated and a label with that bar code is
printed. Production tracker was responsible for
printing label and allowing the user at plant to
decide the type of material through its user
interface.
