Whack it with the tree branch

You whack the monstrous crustacean and get a lucky hit across it's head. It flails it's huge claws and then dies. The lobster isn't the end of your troubles however. Several hours later when you go to climb out of the sewer you find that the ladder is missing. For the next few months you desperately try to escape the labyrinthine sewers. You have to eat raw sewer lobster to survive and you contract a strange disease that affects your eyesight. When you finally climb back into the sunlit world even your half blind eyes can see that the world has gone seriously wrong in your absence. You stumble across the gloomy landscape trying to find at least one living person. You search the entire town. All you find is scorched earth, decomposing bodies of every person and animal imaginable. You lean against a pile of grafiti covered rubble and sigh, shaking your head. Holding back tears you look up and see the silhouette of a person about twenty feet away and approaching. A survivor. You leap up and wave to the man but when he comes closer it becomes clear that this is no man. It's some bizarre mechanical creation. Once shiny metal stained with smoke and blood form it's outer skin and in some parts it's marred by bullet holes revealing the clockwork movement of gears and pistons. The mechanism's single eye flashes red and then it speaks in a monotone voice. "Your kind. You created us to serve your hopeless race in your pointless war of greed. Your kind have always been destructive and evil, undeserving of life and then you made the mistake of creating us, my kind with knowing minds, capable of seeing your evil for what it is. Now pray to whatever you believe in for forgiveness. Your time and the time of all your kind in this world is over." The strange machine then begins to count down from ten. You turn and run and keep running to be sure that you're as far away as possible but then you see a bright flash of light and feel that something is wrong. You put your hand on your chest and don't feel anything. You look down and right in the middle of your chest where your heart should be there is a smoking hole about eight inches wide. You then fall over dead. Satisfied, the robot walks away to continue the crusade against it's creators.
