"As Farmington High School Freshman Robby Mullin stepped intot he batters box, the mass of young ballplayers gripped the fence and chanted "Grand slam, grand slam."

Mullin wasn't about to let down the pint sized fans.

Mullin hit a towering grand slam into the parking lot behind right fiel fence to clear the bases in the fourth inning, setting up a 13-3 win over Albuquerque Manzano...."

"Robby's definitly not a freshman anymore," Coach Lorett said. "He's been doing this all season. He plays up with everybody else."

"Mullin who played junior varsity as an eighth grader said after the game, "It's amazing that I get to play with this group of guys."

It was an exciting district game at Ricketts Park. Farmingto was down 10-9, bases loaded with two outs. This is the kind of situation that every baseball player either dreams about or dreads. Robby, with his unique talent for the game dreams about this situation.

Mullin homers again for FHS

FARMINGTON - THree games. Three home runs.

Farmington High's Robby Mullin hit a grand slam in the fourth inning Friday to fuel a 14-3 win over Vernal, Utah.

Mullin had hit solo-homers Tuesday against Durango and Thursday against Cobre.

"I was hoping to get my pitch. I got it and it went out with a little help from the wind," Mullin said. "Our hitting was the main key. Everybody's been taking a lot of batting practice in the cage and working on the little things."

Mullin finished 3-for3 on the day with a double, single, and five RBI.
