We arrived 12 miles North of Memphis at 4 p.m. on November 2, 2000 – by 8 p.m. we had the back-bar broken down into 11 pieces and loaded into our 24’ enclosed trailer. The front bar was in one piece and was also loaded carefully into the trailer. The front bar has the original Bastian-Blessing nameplate on the front. We arrived in Doniphan – opened the trailer doors, and found that everything had weathered the trip extremely well – even the huge mirror!!! |

The Jorgenson’s from Hastings, Nebraska were out to enjoy our soda fountain. They owned the Fairmont Dairy Store in Hastings for many years. I remember walking two blocks from Hastings Jr. High to get a malt after school. Mr. Jorgenson stepped behind the soda fountain and made his wife a chocolate soda!!! What a treat to see a real “soda jerk” at work behind our fountain! This was truly a “Kodak Moment”! Check out our menu on the next page – we have had a family re-union, birthday parties, a bridal shower, and several church groups use our fountain. We’d love to make your next get-together special! |

After 4 months of intensive work, our soda fountain was ready for final inspection. We were licensed in April of 2001 as a restaurant, even though we only serve ice cream products. Special thanks goes to Greg Robb for allowing us to put our soda fountain in Robb Mercantile. Special thank yous also go to Lyle and Chuck for the restoration of the soda fountain, Ken and Justin Stein for their expertise in carbonation and the little extras that make this fountain workable! |
