Team Options
This page will act as a resource for teams to reference contracts that they have offered that contain a team option. There are two types of team options. They are detailed below.

1) The first type of team option is given as a regular contract, for example, a four year contract
with the option for a fifth season. After that fourth season, the team would either elect to keep
the player on for that additional year or lose him to free agency. This option, since it is of
benefit to the team, subtracts a 1/6 from the free agency dice roll.
2) The second type of team option is performance based. For example, a team would offer a
player a 3 year contract with a performance based option for a 4th year. The GM would set
out a realistic goal for that player, which subsequently has to be approved by league management. An example for a player would be
goals scored, assists or total points. An example for a goalie would be wins, save percentage or GAA. The players role will have to be
defined at the time the contract is offered. If at any point said player is consistently being used out of role in a deliberate attempt to get
out of the contract, the player will be suspended for 10 games and the team will be fined 10,000,000. An example of deliberate would
be playing a starting goalie as backup for an extended period of time or playing a 1st or 2nd line quality player on the 4th line if role
originally stated 1st or 2nd liner.
