Episode 9

Dorota got eliminated. She left three guys and one woman behind. Is The Mole male or female?

Day 18 - Loja
They arrive at a hotel, where they have to select one person. Hanka is chosen and she's taken away by the host. The other three ask the key to their room. But then they find out they get locked up in their rooms. They get one hour and 30 minutes to help each other to get out of the rooms and can win 15,000 PLN with it.
Romek has a lot of locked suitcases in his room and some kind of thingy is hanging on the door where he is supposed to pour alcohol in to open it, but he is still about to find out.
Bartek is in a dark room. There's no light and he is filmed with an infrared camera.
Mirek is in a room with two home trainer bicycles and the movie Psycho of Alfred Hitchcock is playing. A code is written on the shower curtain on the inside. He sees the movie and goes to the bathroom, where he looks in the shower, but doesn't see the code. He finds a phone number by the phone and calls it. It's of Hanka's cellphone. She seems to hesitate to answer it...
Meanwhile, Bartek calls to the reception. "Hello, I'm looking for the room number of my friend..."
Mirek is watching the video and decides to take another look in the shower. He finally sees the code and calls the reception and asks for Bartek from Poland. He gets put through and Bartek answers. They talk a while, probably telling each other what they have in their rooms and Mirek probably also gives him the code. Mirek tells him about the two bicycles in his room. He starts cycling on one of them and a record player starts playing in Bartek's room. Mirek gets on the other bike, which turns on a blacklight in Bartek's room, showing information written on the wall.

Romek hasn't had contact with anyone yet. He's leafing through a copy of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four and through some other books too.
Bartek tells Mirek what he sees on the walls. He goes on the other bike and the record player starts playing again.

Meanwhile, Hanka is enjoying a meal and wine.
Bartek calls Romek and they tell each other what they found in the rooms. Romek tells him about George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty Four.
Mirek calls Hanka and gives her the information he got from Bartek.
There's somthing about VINO TINTO in Bartek's room and he tells Romek about it, but they can't figure out what it is. Romek looks behind a painting and tells Bartek who painted it. Then he calls Mirek and they exchange information. Bartek meanwhile, tries to reach one of them, but can't get through because the other two are talking to each other. After a while Mirek calls him. Bartek tells him about the vino tinto too and then Mirek calls Hanka to ask if she's drinking wine. She is, she reads some of the info on the label of the wine, but doesn't think it will help much. The year of the wine is 1990.

Bartek calls Romek but he has to speak loudly, because Mirek is cycling on one of the bikes and the record player is playing really loud. Romek looks at the first page of the 1984 book. He reads the story and finds a date in it. He also takes a look at the back of the book which says George Orwell was born in 1903.
Mirek is looking behind paintings and mirrors, but can't find anything. Bartek tries a code on his door, but nothing happens. Romek tries a code on one of the cases, and it opens! It has a wine label in it, with the year blanked out. He tells Bartek about it.
Mirek calls Romek, who seems to be getting annoyed. Romek gets Hanka's phone number from Mirek and calls her. She tells him the date of the wine, which opens a safe in his room, which contains small bottles. He calls Mirek and tells him something. Mirek calls Bartek, who tries a code after the conversation, his door opens! Romek pours the liquid of the bottles in the thingy by his door.
Mirek uses the code of the shower curtain on his own door and gets out. While Romek is still pouring the bottles.
Bartek arrives with Hanka in the dining room first, followed by Mirek. But Romek is still not there and they're almost out of time.
Romek's door finally opens and he runs downstairs and takes the elevator. He arrives at the reception desk and looks around, wondering where the others are. After a while he decides to take a look in the dining room and arrives on time! They win 15,000 PLN and are immediately told where they have to go to next. They have 103,000 PLN in the kitty.

For the next assignment they arrive at a church. It's already dark, but they have a long night ahead of them. In a portal of the church, a metal ball is put on a magnet. The magnet is powered by a battery, which will run out during the night. If it does, the ball will drop. If they can catch it, they win 12,000 PLN.
They practice on how to catch it first, using a stone. Romek drops it and Bartek catches it.
It's 9:05 pm and Hanka starts the assignment. One floor higher, Romek is standing, looking at his watch and once in a while looking down at her. He takes over.
When not standing under the magnet, they have mats to sleep on and a small gas burner. Suddenly Romek yells out Bartek's name! It's to switch places. So Bartek takes over.

12:30 am and Mirek takes over Bartek's place.

They keep on taking over from each other. Later in the night they wear gloves, because it's too cold. Bartekisn't really paying attention. He's swaying his arms around... probably to stay awake. He calls Mirek who takes over. Bartek arrives with the other two, who aren't sleeping.

4:52 am. Mirek seems to be falling asleep. He's got troubles keeping his eyes open and his neck hurts. Hanka arrives to take over. Just as she arrives, the ball drops!! Mirek is massaging his neck as it drops, but Hanka is more alert and sticks out her arms. She catches the ball and falls into Mirek. She starts yelling and the other two come and watch.12,000 PLN won. They all try to sleep in the church for a while...

Day 19 - Archidona
It's raining when they get out of the church. The host asks them to write down the names of the remaining contestants they trust most. All notes are put in an urn. The person who is most trusted has to do a special task. That person is...

He has to convince the other three to each do quite a nasty task. If he can cinvince all three of them to do it, they win 10,000 PLN and Mirek gets an exemption. If only 2 of them do it, they win 10,000 PLN, but no one has an exemption. If only one person does the task, that person wins an exemption. If none of them do it, Mirek wins an exemption.
Mirek can choose who has to do which task.

Mirek explains Bartek the challenge and the possible things they can win. Bartek has to get his nose pierced. He doesn't seem to want to do it at first, but enters the piercing shop anyway and decides to go for it. The guy disinfects his left nostril and then a hole is mad in it and a thin stick is put through it. Bartek seems to be in pain and there's a stick stragiht through his nostril. A few tears come out of his eyes. It really seems to hurt, but after a while it's over with. He has succeeded in his task.

Romek is also explained by Mirek what the challenge is al about and what they can win. Romek has to dye his hair. His hair is washed and paint is put on. He has blond hair from now on. His task is a succes.

It's now all down to Hanka. They already have the money, but she doesn't know. If she goes through with her task, they will still have the money, but Mirek will win an exemption. She has to get a tattoo... and seems to have doubts.

Later that day, Mirek is enjoying a drink on a terrace when Romek arrives with his blond hair. Mirek laughs. A while later Bartek arrives with his nose pin in. The three of them talk about it. But what has Hanka decided?

We suddenly see her sitting in a chair and a feather is tattooed on her. Symbolic for the feathers in the elimination. All three of them did their task, meaning they won 10,000 PLN and Mirek has an exemption, getting him straight into the final! They have a total of 125,000 PLN in the kitty.

Suspicious in this episode
It takes Mirek a long time before he gives Hanka's phone number to either of the other two guys.
Romek didn't know where he had to go to when he was out of his room. Didn't anyone tell him?
If it wasn't for Hanka, they probably would have lost the ball catching challenge, because Mirek wasn't paying attention.
At one point, Bartek wasn't paying much attention either.

Elimination
Mirek is sure of a place in the final. Who of the other three will not make it, though?
