Italy took a very different approach to the show. From what I understand from the above-mentioned website, it seems that the show is being taped at this moment and you can see what happens from day to day as the contestants (all well-known Italians) sit and hang around in a house in Yucatan, Mexico.
So it's actually a kind of Big Brother. The videoclips on the site show you people talking to each other... constantly. I guess once or twice a week there's a challenge they have to do.

It seems the show is aired every weekday. That's why I won't make any summaries of it, since there will probably be dozens of episodes.

I received an email from Cecilia Pagliani, executive producer at Trinagle Production, the company that produced 'La Talpa'. She was so kind as to explain me more about the format and the concept of Italy's version of The Mole (I left out the names of The Mole and the winner, so you can find out by yourself below):

Now I’ll shortly explain to you the mechanism of the Italian version of THE MOLE.
First of all it was a CELEBRITY MOLE.
It is composed of 6 daily programs (15 minutes) that contains the shooting of the main moments of the celebrities’ life during their stay (in this case inside the Hacienda in Mexico).
Then on Friday evening the Prime Time Show live where we have in Mexico the celebrities gathered in a particular place linked with the studio in Italy.
The rules of the original format are similar: they have particular and exciting games to earn money, the mole can earn money working against the team, they must do nominations and they can be executed.
We had a big success on RAIDUE, the second channel of our State Network.
The Mole in that series was [...] and the winner [...].
When I have news about the second series, I’ll let you know.
