THE SECRET DEAL AND OTHER INFO
Hal, Shane and Emily formed an alliance. If any of the three win, they
would give the other two in the alliance $20,000 each, unless one of them is the
mole.
Fiona found out she was pregnant during the filming of the show.
Fiona used her trust with John to convince him that she was the mole.
Fiona hated Angela because she knew she was only on the show to start her acting
career.
Shane starred in a television commercial after being on the mole.
ACTS OF SABOTAGE
- In the assault course, he purposely went last on the flying fox so he
could waste time taking his harness off at the end. He directs the
group around an obstacle in the assault course wasting valuable time.
- He convinced John that the clue in the bunker with the timebomb was not
relevant.
- He runs slowly through the pitch-black maze so that he could be caught.
He also picked up one of the beacons before he was caught so it was out of
play for the following contestants. He blamed a faulty torch in the
maze when he returned to the group, but the torch worked for the entire
game.
- Michael knowing Victoria so well appears to be the most valuable person
for the hostage challenge. However he does not correct Mal when he
communicated an incorrect suburb name to the contestants in the car.
It lost the car which lost the challenge.
- In the rescue assignment, he walks in the opposite direction from Hal and
Shane's screams (you could hear it on a stereo tv!). Whenever he and
Brooke stopped to yell for Shane and Hal, he did it near a waterfall so they
couldn't hear anything.
- Being a builder, he made a useless attempt to block a window in the
terrorist attack. The same window was used by a terrorist to get into
the homestead. He takes the nightvision and would be the only person
to see if anyone was coming - but he doesn't use it at all. The
terrorists enter the back of the house, which is where Michael was guarding.
- In the driving test, Michael influenced the others to ignore the road
rules.
- In Hitchcock Hotel he was given an exercise bike as a clue and he didn't
touch it for 35 minutes. He also stopped using the exercise bike in
vital moments. He further slows the team down by going in a different
direction while looking for Grant.
- In the kayak, Michael stops kayaking whenever the boat (with the other
contestants) has moved away from him.
OTHER SUBTLE CLUES
- In Episode One, Michael's dossier is being photocopied (as each contestant
was introduced). The photocopier gives off a laser effect which copies
(scans) his profile - this is the same effect used for the title screen of
the show.
- Whenever they won an assignment, Michael was the only person who didn't
clap.
- After Brooke shoots Michael in the laser assignment, when he said
"Thank you very much, Brooke", he didn't mean it sarcastically, he
was saying it as the mole.
- In one of Michael's voice overs he says "Eliminations are a low
point, knowing someone you've gotten close to is going to be
eliminated" - listening to it carefully you can tell he knows he's
never going to be eliminated. Throughout the entire series he was the
only contestant who never worried about the eliminations in his confession
cams.
