of Tasmania's highest mountain by bicycle in three hours. The contestants are
able to share the riding. Jan begins the 27km trek, rather shakily, and
does not seem to have quite the right riding technique. Alan and Abby
do the majority of the riding and as Alan nears the top, it starts to
snow. The three reach the summit of the mountain with 20 minutes to spare,
$10,000 is added to the kitty.
Day 16
Alan, Abby and Jan are each given a car, Alan
has a Land Rover, Abby an MG and Jan an Alpha Romeo. Their first
instructions are in the glove boxes. The only rules for the treasure hunt are
that they are not allowed to contact each other and they are not permitted to
break the law. Alan's first clue is to go to the Bellreive Oval ticket
gate to collect his next clue, Abby must go to the Government House Gates
and Jan must go to the bandstand in the Park.
They all recieve the same list of clues. Together they must find 4 out of these
6
1. A 16th century newsreader.
2. A lost mobile phone.
3. A photo of the only piece of rope on a yacht.
4. A photo of a moving dinosaur
5. A photo with a Tasmanian Devil
6. A ball that disappears.
Jan arrives back first and successfully has a photo of a moving dinosaur and a photo with a Tasmanian Devil, unfortunately she did not bring back the 16th century newsreader she only took a photo and her photo did not show the *only* piece of rope on a yacht. Abby arrives back next and brings with her the Town Crier (i.e. the 16th Century Newsreader.) None of her other photos are successful. Alan returns next and has found the mobile phone. The challenge looks won, until Grant breaks the bad news to the group. Alan broke the law by doing a 'U' turn over a median strip, and the challenge is therefore lost.
For their very last challenge of this series, the group are taken from Hobart
to Port Arthur and are shown the ropes over their 8 hour journey. They have to
hoist and set sail on the Lady Nelson. With great difficulty and just within the
time limit, the challenge is completed and $10,000 is awarded.
Suspicious
Alan broke the law and lost the entire challenge for the group
The final execution
The last questionnaire takes place at the Port Arthur Prison with
the three contestants each in different cells. After the questionnaire is
complete Grant places a key in the tray of each of the cell doors. Only one key
will open one of the cell doors. This door will be the winner's, who will get
$115,000.
