The Outer Banks is the beach of choice somewhere between Nags Head and Hatteras. Although after sailing around the Bahamas this winter I would say the Exumas are the most beautiful.. better than Aruba, Mexico or anywhere in the states. Although the rugged Northwest coastline is beautiful in a melancholy way...
I try to spend a week and a couple of long weekends a the beach each summer and eventually will have a rental house there..probably near Hatteras. Its still kind of remote and less crowded with a few cool places to go out and the surfing ,swimming and fishing are good.
