| Yugi Mutou is a spikey-haired kid who attends Domino High School. He likes all kinds of board games and his grandfather, Sugoroku Mutou, owns a game shop. Yugi knows how to play many of the games in his grandfathers store. In persona, Yugi is shy and lacks confidence to communicate with others. This makes him a frequent target to a countless number of bullies, gangsters, theives and othe bad guys. His grandfather gave him a long lost Egyptian puzzle knowing that the magic in the puzzle may help him out. This pyramid shaped puzzle is an ancient artifact frim Egypt that gives its user special powers. It is one of seven "Millenium Items". His Favorite card is the Dark Magician. |

| Joey is a very good friend to Yugi. He supports him through battles along with Tea Gardener, Tristan Taylor. He is sort-of a gangster-type of guy. He believes fighting is always the first solution to everything. However, he does care a lot about his friends. Although he can act like one of the bad guys, he's actually a good guy who has a quick temper. In the beginning, he is one of the many bullies that harrass Yugi. That is quickly changed once Yugi tells him that he considers him a friend. Joey is best friends with Tristan Taylor and hangs out alot with him. Although he has never won any battles against Yugi or Seto Kaiba, he is a worthy duelist in many respects. His favorite card is the Flame swordsman and loves to use the Red-Eyes Black Dragon. |

| Tristan Taylor is another of Yugi's friends. He met Yugi at the same time as his long time pal, Joey. Even though these two friends bicker and fight with each other once in a while, they always cover each others back. Sometimes hes is quick to panic, like when they first get off the ship to Duelist Kingdom, but when it comes to it he is always ready to stick up for what's right and cheer on his friends. His favorite card is the Cyber Commander. |

| Tea Gardener is another of Yugi's close friends. She is headstrong and always sticks up for what is right. Among all of Yugi's Friends, she is the voice of reason. She is alway's encouraging everyone to believe in him or herself and never to give up. Tea loves her friends very much and is willing to help them in any way possible. Her favorite card is the Magician of Faith. |

| Seto Kaiba is a rich, cold-hearted, cruel controller of a company called Kaiba Corp. He has a passion for magic, dragons, and wizards. His passion made him create the ultimate gaming place called "Kaiba Land". Since his parents death, he and his brother Mokuba were sent to an orphanage. Seto promised to always take care of his brother no matter what. Seto challenged the president of Kaiba Corp. to a game of Chesswhen he came to the orphanage to adopt. As a reward for the game, Seto and Mokuba became his adopted sons. His one obsession is trying to find as special card called the Blue-Eyes Whitew Dragon, one of the strongest cards in the game. When he finds out that Yugi's grandpa has the only other Blue-Eyes White Dragon in existence,only four in existence Kaiba has three of them, He challenges Yugi's grandpa to a duel in which he wins. But Yugi takes over the duel and wins against Kaiba. That was Kaiba's only loss in Duel Monsters. His favorite card is the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. |

| Mokuba Kaiba is the younger brother to Seto Kaiba. He doesn't see any evil in his brother, only good. These brothers have been friends and family ever since their parents death. Mokuba idolizes Seto and sees only the best in him. He is so devoted to his brother that he has vowed to take revenge on anyone that crosses them. |

| Bakura is a friend of Yugi's from school. One would think that their shared passion to play Duel Monsters would give them plenty to bond over, but there's something not quite right with him.
