| The Waters Story The Waters was originally created by Josh Pasternak and Daniel Rivera. Josh, Daniel, and George Rambow were good friends already, and Josh and George knew Matt Silverman from high school. They placed an ad for a bass player at Bellaire high, which Rob answered, and The Waters was formed. They played their first gig at Fitzgerald's in the February of 1996 with friends Reformed Redundant (Joe Woodburn, Adam Strickland, Tommy Holton, and eventually James Gillispie, but Dan Rendon was singing at the time.) The Waters went on to play several gigs around Houston, TX, at Fitzgerald's upstairs (more) and the Abyss, and they recorded an 8 song album. When it came time to graduate high school, the band was forced to break up in the summer of 1997. They were together for 2 very short, but super-great years. Rob later moved to Austin where Matt and Josh were finishing up their college degrees at UT. Still inspired by the power of music, Josh, Rob, and Matt decided to get together and write some songs as The Waters Trio. They wrote 7 new songs and played 2 old songs originally performed by The Waters. Josh, Rob, and Matt recorded 7 of the songs they had on Rob's 4-track. These recordings have been remixed and are available here. The Waters Trio |
