I had been staring at Rachael's darling little face on rainbowkids.com since June 2001, waiting for the right time to approach Rob about adopting another child. Finally, we both agreed to start the process again, and then I saw the updated photo above posted in October 2001. Rob and I both fell in love with this precious little girl before we even contacted AIAA about adopting her. We knew this was our daughter with out a doubt!!! We started the process to adopt Rachael the next day, and began another amazing journey. When all the paperwork was completed we got the call once again from Evie, at New Hope Adoptions, saying Rachael was ready to travel!!! We booked the soonest flight we could and arrived in Seoul on March 6, 2002 to bring her home!!! The wait was so much different this time around as this beautiful little girl had been in our hearts for almost a whole year! |

This picture was taken on Memorial Day weekend during our first camping trip as a family together.She had so much fun that weekend. She really likes to be outdoors, and was so excited to play on the slide and swingset. Doesn't she have the most beautiful smile??? |

Since Rachael had not joined our family until after her 1st birthday, we thought it was important to have a formal portrait taken in her hanbok in memory of this special occassion. The traditional outfit she is wearing was given to us by her foster family. They come in a variety of styles and colors, but this one just so happens to match her brothers perfectly! |

Just before Christmas 2002, we received a package from Rachael's foster mother. In it was this back pack-which is one of her most favorite toys! So of course, Rachael just loves it and she wears it all the time! We never know what we might find inside of it at the end of the day!!! (This photo was taken in Jan. 2003) |
