The Wedding Veil

Here's what I would like to do with my wedding veil with sleight variations. I wanted something longer such as a cathedral veil so I added more netting that was more opaque rather than translucent.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Cover headband frame with satin, folding satin to inside of frame; glue to secure. Trim satin edges; glue ribbon over edges.

2.To cover headband with lace, plan how to arrange lace trim so it completely covers headband. It may be necessary to cut individual motifs from lace trim to fill in open areas on headband. When satisfied with arrangement, glue lace to headband.

3.Following designs in motifs in lace trim, glue pearls and sequins to headband.

Veil Fig 1 4.For veil, cut bridal illusion into the following lengths: 20", 25", and 30". To round bottom corners of each length, fold illusion in half vertically. Cutting through both layers of illusion, trim corners in a gentle curve (Fig. 1). Aligning top edges of lengths, layer lengths with shortest on top and longest on bottom. Stitching through all layers, gather stitch across top, 1/4" from edge. Pull up gathers tightly to measure 3" across; knot and clip thread. Glue gathers to center back inside headband.

5.Glue pearls randomly to veil.

6.Glue one hair comb on each side along front edges inside headband.
