Kayaking in Canada, and Hiking in the Rockies!: These are some pictures from my holiday with Caroline in Canada/USA in Sep '98
Snow cave!
The whole 2 week period was spent in this tent, or the 4x4 Toyota - the only way I/we could afford the trip!

One of the highlights of the trip for me was hiking through the first snowfall of winter, and camping in "the back country" overnight. Minus 3 degrees C, mind!
Where? - Grand Teton National Park, in the Rockies, near Yellowstone National Park.

Caroline, here, is my special "adventure friend" from California, USA, whom I met while running a marathon in California! She planned the whole trip!
The main "excuse" for the trip was to go on a kayaking trip to search for Orcas - we didn't see any from the kayaks, but did an extra boat trip and tracked them down!!!  Fantastic!!
We finally got to see the Orcas!! They had decided to go on an unscheduled trip which coincided with our 3 day kayaking trip. They returned on our final morning - too late for us kayakers, so we did a boat trip instead!
Hot springs at Yellowstone
Another highlight was "glacading" down a permanent snow field on my backside, at high speed! A few bruises but lots of laughs and adrenalin!
