Heatgun Roasting / Breadmaker roasting

Home
I have been roasting with a heatgun for a couple of years now. This is how I started with a heatgun . I love the heatgun – you watch the beans change colour, and you can vary the heat instantly to slow down or accelerate the roast. I think it’s bettter than any other home roasting I have seen.

The problem is the manual stirring. Or has been. Problem solved. The idea came from a posting on OzGreens forum from Brian – Bread Maker!

So I invested $20 in a breadmaker on Ebay, gutted all the electonics and kept only the motor and the pan/stirrer. I clamped a heatgun to it and presto – just what I was looking for.

This perfect roaster roasts 600-800 grams batches, takes a lot less space than a BBQ, and it’s cheap. The whole setup is around $100 (Australian, even less Greenbacks), complete with a cooling unit.

Thanks Brian for the great inspiration
