Many of you have asked me about the use of Candles with prayers.  With this in mind, I have decided I would include a general listing of the use of Candles for you.  When preparing to light your candle, (see listing) one of the first things that you have to do, is have a clear picture in your mind of what you need.  Remember the candle is considered an offering to the “Universe” and serves as a focal point for you and your desires.  Your focus should include your emotions, thought forms and your personal energy. 

Keep your candle in a private place where you can light it undisturbed.  This way your focus/concentration remains unbroken.  Prepare yourself by quieting your mind from the day’s activities and any other problems or concerns that may be pressing on your mind.  When you feel ready, light your candle and begin to pray.  Pray in the way you are most comfortable with and remember that while you are praying to BE SPECIFIC about your needs.  In the beginning, burn your candle for only about one hour.  When you are ready to re light it, do so only after quieting your mind and praying again.  As you become more proficient and comfortable you will find yourself leaving your candle lit for longer and longer times.

Also, especially in the beginning, most candle workers prefer to begin by praying and offering their candle to an ancestor.  A good example of this would be a grandparent, mother, father, etc. who has passed on, and why not ??  This is an excellent and very old way of making your connection to the other side.  After all, we ARE our ancestors.  Their DNA runs deeply through us, so contact with them should be easier.  Ask them to guide you and advise you.  Ask them for signs or to come to you in dreams. 

When praying to an ancestor, especially in the beginning, your focus/concentration is generally greater because you can usually picture them easily in your mind. Some people really enjoy making a small offering to their ancestors along with their candle. For example, if your grandparent enjoyed coffee, you could fill a shot glass with coffee for them. You could use chocolate, alcohol, candy, etc. But always have a glass of clean water by the candle in order for your ancestors to refresh themselves.

Please understand that candle lighting and prayer takes time. You don’t always get an answer right away. However, have faith and don’t give up. Eventually, prayers will be answered one way or another. You must be patient and observe the signs all around you. Perhaps, you will get what you need? Or, perhaps you will be shown that what you are asking for cannot be given at this time.

 Use the following in order to determine the proper candle color and choose your own prayer.  Always remember, harm none, as it will be returned to you 3-fold.  Never, ever go against the free will of another.    I will always be here for those of you who need a more intense Spiritual Working.  I wish you good luck.
