| Episode 7: Game On First Aired: 3-20-2004 Guest Starring: Islay Johnston as Hayley Summary: Trent is working the tables at Hayley's when she sends him off with a tray of drinks. Ethan is there as well playing a videogame. Trent gets the drinks to the right table but ends up spilling them thanks to Ethan, who jumped up to yell at the game and bumped into him. It turns out that Ethan is having trouble getting all of the keys needed to collect the code at the end of the game. Hayley tells him its not that big of a deal but Ethan tells her that whoever collects the code first gets to test the newest version of the game. Elsewhere, Cassidy is dressed up in Renaissance garbs and is dragging Devin with her to go to Hayley's Cyberspace. She tells him that wants to practice for an upcoming role as a queen and what better place to find loyal subjects. On his island, Mesogog notices that Ethan is separated from the other rangers, who are shown to be in a forest with the red and yellow Raptor Cycles, he then informs Zeltrax of his plan to divide and conquer. He has Elsa create the Demagnitron monster and begins to execute his plan. In the forest Tommy wonders where Ethan is and tells Conner and Kira the importance of training, which is why they have the cycles in the forest. Zeltrax and his Tyrannodrones arrive before they can really train and a fight begins. The rangers soon morph. Tommy takes on Zeltrax, as usual, while Conner and Kira use their bikes to fight the Tyrannodrones. They villains soon retreat though, and Tommy figures that it was a diversion and sends the other two off to find Ethan. At Hayley's Cyberspace, Hayley is leaving for the day, but Ethan stays behind to try and finish the game. As soon as she leaves, Ethan hooks a machine that he created, up to the computer and it begins to hack the game for the code. Cassidy and Devin arrive at the cafe soon after to discover it empty. They decide to find a way in anyway. From outside, Demagnitron blasts Ethan's machine causing Ethan to be sucked into the game. Cassidy and Devin finally get in and approach the computer. Demagnitron sees them and sends them in too. Inside the game, Cassidy and Devin land in the middle of a forest, as does Ethan, but in a different part. Beldorf the Wizard, a character in the game approaches Ethan and thinks that Ethan is after his code. Ethan tells him that he just wants out, but the wizard does not believe him and runs off. Conner and Kira finally arrive at the cafe to find Demagnitron. They begin to fight and Conner calls Tommy. Tommy tells him that he is trying to get a lock on Ethan and to hold the monster off as long as possible. Back in the game, Cassidy and Devin are walking when Cassidy takes a fall down a hill into a mud puddle. Elsewhere, Ethan is giving chase to Beldorf to try and get information, but Beldorf runs into his house and shuts the door. Behind Ethan, another part of the game manifests itself. The Triptoids. Ethan and them begin to fight. In the real world, Kira decides to go into the cafe to find Ethan. She enters only to have the machine suck her into the game as well. She quickly helps Ethan fight. Realizing that they are losing, they morph. Conner tries the same tactic in the real world, but is unsuccessful because Demagnitron blasts him into the cafe before he can finish the morph. The blast causes him to slam into the computer and machine. This jar to the system causes Ethan, Kira, and the Triptoids to enter the real world. Conner finally finishes his morph and they take the battle outside. They fight in front of the cafe, but Demagnitron simply retreats. The rangers demorph and enter the cafe to look at the game to see what went wrong, only to find out that Beldorf came through as well. At HQ, Hayley is working on the machine trying to see if she can send Beldorf back. Tommy begins to lecture Ethan for letting a monster sneak up behind him but Beldorf, tired of listening, seals Tommy's mouth shut. At Ethan's request, Beldorf removes the seal, just as Tommy finishes. Hayley then informs them that she might have a way to fix the problem. On the island, Elsa comes up with the idea to send Demagnitron to attack the city's power grid. Mesogog agrees and sends the monster off. The rangers see this and leave Beldorf behind to morph and fight. They use the Z-Rex blaster and defeat the monster. Mesogog makes it grow and Tommy tries to attack it on his own. Unsuccessful, he calls for the Brachio Zord. Using the Megazord's Tyranno Tail attack, they defeat the monster. On the island, Mesogog is upset for Zeltrax's defeat, but he redeams himself when he shows Mesogog that he was able to get the Triptoids for Mesogog's army. At Hayley's Cyberspace, Beldorf offers to give the code to Ethan, but Ethan tells him that he want to get it the old-fashioned way. Hayley then sends Beldorf back, which causes Cassidy and Devin to return. My Thoughts: Not to bad for a filler episode. I'm not sure how I feel about the Triptoids possibly being around for more episodes. They just seem a little too kiddy looking for my taste, but we'll see. |
