| "Commemorating 500 episodes, may the power live on forever." Episode 4: Legacy of Power First Aired: 2-28-2004 Guest Starring: Islay Johnston as Hayley Summary: On his island, Mesogog is trying to open a large and strange white stone, but gets angry when he is unsuccessful. Zeltrax then brings Tommy in and Mesogog tells him to strap Tommy to the life-force-extractor. Mesogog tells Tommy that the stone contains a power source that he wants and he wants Tommy to get it out. When Tommy refuses Mesogog tells him he will help and Mesogog lowers a spike into position above Tommy. Down in HQ, Conner, Kira and Ethan are talking about Tommy's disappearance. To find out what Tommy has been up to, Ethan gets onto the computer. He manages to get in and brings up a video. Tommy comes on screen and says the video is a diary of his history as a power ranger. He begins by talking about the five original power rangers and how he became the evil green ranger, but then turned good after the rangers destroyed his sword. He then moved onto how the green ranger powers were only temporary and how this allowed him to become the white ranger that Zordon, the first mentor, created. Back in HQ, Ethan stops the video. Conner is surprised that their teacher is the oldest living power ranger. But a voice behind them tells them he is not the oldest, just the best. They turn around to see that the voice belongs to Hayley. They are surprised to see her and she tells them that Tommy is in trouble. Hayley tells them that she has helped Tommy prepare the ranger energies since she was in grad school. They question her about where Tommy is and she shows them a video of him being kidnaped that was taken by a security camera outside of her business. Conner asks why Tommy didn't morph and Hayley tells them he is not a ranger any more and she starts the video back up. With scenes from the original series playing, Tommy talks about Lord Zedd coming and having three new rangers come to replace the original red, blue and yellow ones. He then moves onto having to gain the ninja powers after the ranger's zords were destroyed. After that he talks about a new pink ranger and the explosion of the first Command Center. He explains that this caused them to become the new Zeo Power rangers. But when Divatox attacked, new powers were needed and he and the other rangers became the Turbo Power Rangers. He then explains how he passed his powers onto TJ. Hayley then stops the video and says that is when he went to college and met Hayley and how he knew when he found the Dino gems, he could not escape the power for long. Kira then comes up with the idea to find an invisiportal, which might get them into Mesogog's lair. Hayley says that she has been looking, but needs more time. She turns on the video again while she works on finding the portal. On the video Tommy shows clips of Divatox storming the Command Center and how the rangers went into space to find Zordon. Once there, he explains, they met Andross and became the space rangers. Tommy then tells them that elsewhere in space, the Lost Galaxy rangers were just beginning and how they defeated Trakeena. He then shifts the focus back to Earth and tells the three about the Lightspeed Rescue rangers. Hayley stops the video to tell them she has something that might lead them to an invisiportal. Back to Mesogog's island. Mesogog tells Tommy that the stone will help return the Earth to its Pre-historic roots. Causing Tommy to ask why can't Mesogog just want to rule the Earth like the other sickos. He then tells Mesogog that he won't help and Mesogog turns the spike above Tommy, on, causing it to glow red. Back at HQ, Hayley is having trouble finding one of Mesogog's portals. The video starts back up, beginning with clips from Power Rangers Time Force. Kira thinks that the rangers can help them time-travel back to when Tommy was kidnaped so they can stop it. Unfortunately, the video offers no information on how to reach them. Conner asks why they can't find some rangers and team up to scour the city, looking for a portal. Hayley tells them that most don't have their powers any more and some never wanted them. The video then begins to talk about the Wild Force rangers. Pausing the video, Hayley explains that she knows there is another ranger group out there and they know a person named Cam who might help. Conner tells her to type in Ninja Storm. He explains that his twin brother went to a ninja school where a few students were chosen to become rangers. He explains that his brother was an airhead and never finished the training and that they are totally different. Hayley types in Ninja Storm, and brings up some clips about the wind, thunder, and samurai rangers (Ninja Storm Rangers). After the video stops, Conner tries some moves his brother taught him and ends up kicking a computer bank. This causes the screen to mess up. Hayley is able to fix it and Tommy comes back on screen and shows Conner, Kira, and Ethan holding their respective gems. He says that, should something happen to him, they are in charge of protecting the world. After the video ends, they realize how much Tommy trusts them, Hayley finally finds a portal for them to use and they prepare to go save their teacher. Meanwhile, on the island, Mesogog still has the spike above Tommy. To be continued... My Thoughts: I thought that this episode was an awesome way to do the 500th, but why was there no mention at all of Tommy being in Forever Red? The whole Hayley thing was a surprise to me. I like how they had Conner mention his "twin brother." It was a nice way of acknowledging the fact that he did play a part on NS. |
