| Episode 3: Wave Goodbye First Aired: 2-21-2004 Guest Starring: Jeffrey Parazzo as Trent Islay Johnston as Hayley Summary: Kira and Conner meet up outside of a restaraunt called Hayley's Cyberspace. Conner asks her if Ethan called her as well. She tells him yeah and they both go in. Ethan tells them that he invited them there to see what he is about. He introduces them to Hayley, an MIT graduate and techno genius. Hayley offers Kira a gig to play at the place which she eagerly accepts. Hayley then tells Conner about the open tryouts for the Reefside Wave pro-soccer team. He quickly runs off to go try out. Kira leaves as well to go prepare her stuff. After Kira and Conner leave, Tommy contacts Ethan. He asks him to meet him at the end of Riverside Road. On his island, Mesogog is reaming out Elsa and Zeltrax. Elsa is quickly able to give him the answer for their failure that he wants. Mesogog asks them if they had any luck tracking down what they discussed about. Elsa tells them they haven't and Zeltrax tells them when Tommy makes his move, they will be there. On the practice field, Conner is trying out for the team and doing well. In the woods, Ethan and Tommy are looking at a nest with eggs in it. Tommy tells Ethan that after the island exploded, his experiments were scattered all throughout the area and when the eggs hatch, the rangers will ride them. They collect the eggs just in time for Zeltrax, Elsa, and some Tyrannodrones to show up for them. They begin to fight and Tommy and Ethan gain the upper hand. Tommy tells Ethan to call the others and he does. Conner, upset that he must leave tryouts, quickly runs to help, as does Kira as well. Telling a Tyrannodrone that he "asked for not me," Ethan morphs. As do the other two at different locations. Using their Thundermax Sabers and individual weapons, they quickly get rid of the Tyrannodrones while Tommy fights Zeltrax and Elsa. The rangers go to Tommy's location and Zeltrax and Elsa retreat. Conner leaves to go back to tryouts while the other two leave with Tommy. Conner arrives too late as the tryouts are over. When the coach leaves, a ball rolls over to Conner. A little girl comes up and tells him to kick it. He lightly kicks it to her and the girl leaves with the ball. At Hayley's Cyberspace, Ethan and Kira are talking about the eggs hatching when a boy named Trent walks in. Kira appears to think he is cute and is at a loss for words. He approaches their table and asks them if they know where Hayley is because he is supposed to start work there that day. Ethan tells him that they don�t really know and that he recognizes him. Trent tells them that he just moved to Reefside last week. They introduce themselves but Kira is a little nervous. Hayley soon shows up and takes Trent away. Conner shows up, soon after, and is angry that he missed his chance to play on the pro team. He tells them that he wants out and they leave to go see Tommy. They arrive at the Headquarters to find Tommy being thrown around and the place being trashed by what hatched from the eggs. He tells them not to come in, that he is trying to tame them and they are dangerous, and is eventually thrown out of the room. He shuts the door and the they talk. Conner tells him that he needs to find a replacement. Tommy tells Conner to think his decision over and Conner leaves. On his island, Mesogog talks about the eggs and tells Elsa to initiate the geno-randomizer. She does and creates a monster. On the field, Conner is kicking goals when the tryout coach comes up to him. He tells Conner that a teacher told him that it was the teacher's fault that Conner had to leave. They talk about Conner giving up everything to join the team and the coach leaves. Ethan and Kira show up soon after. Conner tells them that he is sorry for leaving them. At the headquarters, Tommy sees the monster on his screen and calls the three. Telling Ethan and Kira that this is the last time, Conner and them morph. The rangers arrive on scene and begin to fight the monster. During the fight monster makes a quick get-away and Tommy sends the raptor riders, the things from the eggs. They then give chase after the monster. While running after the monster, Conner notices that the girl from before is in trouble. He saves her from the Tyrannodrones and leaves her with her mother, then leaves to join the others. With all three riding on Conner's raptor, they use the Z-Rex blaster to destroy the monster. Mesogog soon calls upon his hydro-regenerator and makes the monster grow. They call Tommy and tell them that they may have a problem on their hands. Tommy guesses that the monster has grown huge. Ethan asks if he has done this before and Tommy says once or twice. He sends the Dino Zords and they form the Megazord. Using the Ptera Rang and Dino Drill, they finally defeat the monster. Afterwards, the little girl from before gives morphed Conner a hug. At Hayley's Cyberspace, Ethan is surprised to see Conner. Conner tells him that the little girl made him decide to stay as a ranger. After they talk, Kira begins her set. While she is playing, Ethan asks Conner where Tommy is because he is supposed to be there. Outside Tommy is getting ready to go in when Zeltrax shows up with some Tyrannodrones and they kidnap him. My Thoughts: Overall, I though this was a good episode. I liked the little cliff-hanger at the end of the episode. Jason's acting during the scene where the raptors are trashing the place was excellent and humorous. The Trent character is someone to watch for. |
