Guest Starring: Islay Johnston as Hayley

Summary:
Hayley arrives to open the cafe and while walking through the dark building, she hears a sound. She grabs a mic stand off of the stage and goes to investigate. It turns out that the noise belongs to Trent, who was drawing at the cafe because he couldn't it at home, thanks to his father's dislike for it. When they both calm down from being scared, Trent helps her set everything up for the day and explains why he was there.
On his island fortress, Mesogog questions Zeltrax about Elsas location. Zeltrax tells him that she is nearing the "carbon infusion" and that she will arrive to it soon. Mesogog then comments on how they have kept the "prize" well hidden from Tommy for nearly a year. Elsewhere, Elsa has arrived in a forest area, via an invisiportal. Using thermal glasses, she locates the place where the prize was hidden. She then states that the prize's energy should be ready by now and uses her computer to drop a cloaking field, then blast a statue into pieces. She approaches the remnants of the statue and smiles.
In the HQ lab, Tommy is looking at rock that he seems to find interesting. His endeavor is cut short when the computer beeps to let him know that something is on screen. The event on screen is Elsa's destruction of the statue. Unfortunately for Tommy, there is so much smoke due to the blast that he cannot tell who it is on the screen.
Meanwhile, Cassidy has dragged Devin along with her to enact her latest plan. She intends to get a job at a real news station. Devin informs her that she probably could use some actual experience before trying to get a job there, but Cassidy brushes his advice off and tells him that you only need good hair, clothes, and make-up to be a real tv reporter. They soon get into the office of the man who could give her a job, but he promptly turns Cassidy down, due to lack of experience. Cassidy then gets an idea and asks him if she could find the identity of the power rangers, could he give her a job. Since this is something that not even his best reporters could do, he agrees that if she can find out and prove the identity of even one ranger, she could get a spot as the lead story. Cassidy is happy and her and Devin leave.
At the statue site, Tommy is using a machine to read energies when Conner, Ethan, and Kira arrive. He tells them that the energy reading is so intense that the meter can't read it. Conner asks what kind of energy and Tommy tells him that its the same kind that is found in the rangers' morphers. They realize that it was a dino gem that was housed in the statue and they don't know who has it.
At their house, Trent tells Anton, who is sitting down, that he is not happy about being told not to draw anymore. Anton tells him that when Trent's parents disappeared, him and Trent agreed that Anton would act as his father. He then moves on to say that fathers are sometimes forced to make decisions, but as he is saying it, he begins to get dizzy and disoriented. Trent asks if he is alright, and Anton tells him that he is fine. He then tells Trent that he can only raise Trent how he sees fit. Trent tells them thats fine and he understands. Anton then tells Trent to leave, as he has work to finish, and he says so with his voice sounding remarkably like Mesogog's. Trent leaves, still a little angry, and Anton gets up and approaches an invisiportal that has manifested in the room. He enters it, without knowing that Trent is looking on by peeking around the entry-way.
In the fortress, Elsa is cutting through a large, black stone while Zeltrax hovers nearby. Mesogog appears and tells them that the news had better be good. Elsa tells them that it will take a while longer, but the end result will justify the time. She then tells him that it will only be a matter of hours before the energy will join with his.
At the house, Trent enters the office and finds the invisiportal that Anton entered. He enters it as well and is dropped into the fortresss main area. He sees a glowing object (the "prize" that Elsa released from the carbon formation) and is drawn towards it. His forearm raises up on its own and he notices that the object is a silver band (much like the other rangers, but with different markings) that contains the source of the bright light, a glowing gem. The silver band then leaps onto his wrist, snaps itself into place and forms the drago morpher. Visions of the white ranger flash through Trent's mind and he is flipped back. Trent has made his way outside while the morpher is glowing intensely and shooting energy bolts at his body. He stumbles to his knees and appears to be in pain as the bright light consumes him.
At the fortress, Elsa and Zeltrax are looking at the spot where the band was. Elsa accuses Zeltrax of taking it, which he denies. She agrees and states that she is grasping at straws to find a reason for its disappearance. They agree that they must find it before Mesogog finds out. Elsa then comes up with the idea to release a creature. She tells Zeltrax that the gem is pure evil and the current owner of it would be looking for a battle. She states that he will want to fight and that he won't be able to help himself. She then approaches the Geno-Randomizer and prepares to create a creature.
At the lab, Hayley is monitoring the computer when it shows the monster. She informs the rangers and Tommy tells them that it appears to be looking for something. Conner, Ethan, and Kira soon morph and approach the monster. Conner asks it if there is something they can help it with and it tells them that it is looking for something in basic white. The creature blasts them and as they get back up, the rangers see a blur streak through and begin attacking the monster. The blur (the white ranger) quickly defeats the monster with little effort. The white ranger then streaks off before the rangers get a good look at him. Conner contacts Hayley and Tommy and they tell the rangers that they will try to find out what it was.
In the city, the rangers have finally caught up with the white ranger. Conner runs toward the new ranger, but he tells them to stay back or he will be forced to do something that he doesn't want to do. Conner asks what he means and the white ranger uses his Drago Sword to draw laser arrows in the air and fires them at the rangers. The white ranger tells them that was a warning and disappears. At the fortress, Mesogog is punishing Elsa and Zeltrax for the failure. Zeltrax tells him that he and Elsa are formulating a plan.
Tommy and Hayley are looking at the computer trying to figure out who the white ranger is. Hayley tells him that she can't get a lock on the genetic make-up because the ranger powers may have bonded with users DNA. Conner, Kira, and Ethan approach them, still morphed, but helmet-less. The white ranger then appears on screen and Tommy sends them after him. They get there quickly and fight, but the white ranger quickly takes the others down. Tommy appears soon (morphed) and tells the white ranger that they do not wish to hurt him. He tells the other rangers that he wants to defeat them and Kira and Ethan rush towards him. He then knocks them down off the roof that they were fighting on and begins to take just those two on. Ethan and Kira soon call their individual weapons and go at the ranger.
They hit him with them on the wrist that his morpher is and the white ranger seems to just absorb it and knocks them back. This forces Kira and Ethan to demorph involuntarily. Tommy arrives and does the same thing with his Brachio staff. The white ranger absorbs it and forces Tommy to demorph. Conner tries his hand at fighting the white ranger (without using the Tyranno staff), buts gets knocked back and is forced to demorph as well. The white ranger then leaves after informing them that they have been warned.
At HQ, the rangers and Hayley are sitting around wondering how they can handle the new ranger. Tommy tells them that they must find out his identity and what he wants. Cassidy and Devin are leaving the station when the see the white ranger stumble past. They go after him in order to unmask his identity. Before they get to him, the white ranger rounds a corner and falls down. He then demorphs and Trent gets up, looking rather disoriented and wearing the silver band on his left wrist. Cassidy and Devin run into him and ask him if he knows where the white ranger went. Trent says that he hasn't and they take off to go look for him. Trent then leans against the wall and looks on in as if he were in pain.

To be continued...

My Thoughts:
An awesome episode in my opinon. It set the white ranger saga up well and even gave us the first hint that Mercer is Mesogog.
I like that Trent wasn't brainwashed to be evil by the villains and this is something that the gem is doing. This sets up a pretty interesting plot. Meaning it will be cool to see if the villains try and get the gem back from him.
