| Episode 10: Ocean Alert First Aired: 4-10-2004 Guest Starring: Islay Johnston as Hayley Latham Gaines as Anton Mercer Summary: Conner, Kira, Ethan, and Trent are hanging out at Hayley�s Cyberspace and looking at a computer news story. Cassidy and Devin are there as well looking for a story to cover. The Cafe is brought to a quite though, as a woman enters. While everyone else drools over the woman�s beauty (especially Conner and Ethan), Cassidy recognizes her as Nikki Valentina, a star of Ocean Alert, a popular t.v. show. Hayley comes forward and nervously introduces herself to Nikki. Nikki, acting like a prima-donna, doesn�t seem to care and asks Hayley for a drink. When Hayley can�t make the drink due to a lack of the proper ingredients, Nikki offers her 100 dollars for it. Hayley tells her that she can�t buy what Hayley doesn�t have and Nikki decides to leave, but not before Cassidy tries, unsuccessfully, to acquire an interview with her. Kira and Trent then prepare to leave and go look at some drawings that Trent created for Kira�s demo, but their plans get side-lined when Trent�s father, Anton, calls for him and forces Trent to postpone their plans. In the lab, Tommy is looking a screen, searching for a dino egg. In the island fortress, Elsa and Zeltrax introduce Mesogog to their latest monster, Megalador. Unsatisfied, Mesogog, decides that they need better raw material for their creatures and sees Nikki doing a scene on one of his monitors. He decides that Nikki would make good raw material and sends the monster after her. Tommy�s quest to find the egg hits a road-bump when the screen shows Megalador attacking the city. He contacts Conner, Kira, and Ethan and sends them after it, while he monitors the egg. The three arrive and begin to fight some Tyrannodrones. Elsewhere, Megalador has caught up with Nikki. The monster prepares to take Nikki with him, but a kick from Tommy, who promptly arrived, sends the monster flying backward, allowing Nikki (who does not even offer a thanks) to leave. Back at their battle, Conner, Kira, and Ethan morph to better handle the Tyrannodrones and quickly dispense of the henchmen. Back at his fight, Tommy gets knocked off a ledge, but morphs on the down, thereby saving himself. Conner, Kira, and Ethan soon arrive (still morph) and find that Nikki hasn�t left yet. Conner and Ethan get distracted trying to impress her and get blasted by the monster. Who quickly grabs Nikki and leaves. The rangers leave as well. Trent finally arrives home and his father gives him a speech about being able to know that Trent could take over, should something happen to him. Elsewhere, Cassidy is practicing to be on Ocean Alert someday, with Devin as her �drowning victim.� At the fortress, Nikki is strapped to a table. At the lab, Conner and Ethan are dealing with a different sort of problem. The blast that Megalador hit them with, caused their faces to have weird spots all over them. Kira then informs the others that they can�t get into the fortress, even with the cycles. Meanwhile, Mesogog and Zeltrax approach Nikki and Mesogog tells her that her DNA is pure evil. He then tells Zeltrax to take her to a machine, but Nikki stomps on his foot and gets away from Zeltrax. The rangers see Nikki land on the beach after an invisiportal shoots her out there. They also notice that Mesogog has sent Megalador after her and morph to go fight, while Hayley remains in the lab to still search for the egg. Zeltrax arrives soon after the rangers, and a fight is on. Nikki takes the opportunity and leaves. As she is walking away, Megalador tries to blast her, but Devin, who is still practicing with Cassidy, see this and knocks Nikki out of the way. Nikki asks him if he has ever done an action role and Devin tells her no. He then asks her if it is cool knowing that people adore her, and she tells him that she did it all for the money. To which Cassidy believes is pretty shallow, even for Cassidy. Back at the battle, per usual, Tommy fight fights Zeltrax and the others take on the monster. In the lab, Hayley has finally found the egg. Soon after, Zeltrax retreats and Hayley arrives at the egg�s location and grabs it. At the battle, the three blast Megalador with the Z-Rex Blaster and destroy it. Elsa makes it grow and the rangers form the megazord. Soon after, Megalador blasts the megazord and knocks the rangers out of it, allowing him to enter the water and prepare to have a large tidal wave crash into the city. Hayley arrives in Tommy�s Jeep and throws the egg to Ethan. Using the new Stega face plate on his morpher, Ethan causes the egg to hatch and Stega zord to be born. The stega zord flattens its back out and the rangers have the Thundersaurus Megazord ride it onto the waves. Using the Dino Drill attack and some good surf moves, they defeat the monster for good. At his house, Anton approaches Trent and is happy to see him looking at some books pertaining to work, but after Anton leaves, Trent moves the books to continue working on a drawing of his. At the beach, Conner and Ethan prepare to approach Nikki, but when the over her complaining about love-sick fans (and at some urging from Kira) they realize that she isn�t as great as they thought she was. Nikki leaves and prepares to do a scene for Ocean Alert that features Devin guest-starring as a �drowning victim.� This upsets Cassidy, who gets kicked out for �disturbing the actors.� My Thoughts: An ok episode for a filler. Kevin Duhaney's, Ethan, acting during Nikki first entrance scene was pretty funny. |
