| Episode 1: Day of the Dino Part I First Aired: 2-14-2004 Summary: An island in the sea. We catch our first sight of Tommy as he is running through a building from Mesogog and some Tyrannodrones. He is eventually blown outside the building and the Tyrannodrones are soon after him. They corner him and using his skills he quickly fights them off and runs. He hits the edge of a cliff and is forced to jump into the water as the island explodes and sinks into the sea. Some years later... Tommy is arriving for his first teaching day at Reefside High School. On his way through the school, he meets the new principal Ms. Randall. They talk about expectations and how she wants Tommy to be mean to the students. After they are through, Tommy arrives at his first period science class. It does not take long for a student named Cassidy to introduce herself, to much moaning from the rest of the class. She tries to interview him, but Tommy notices a seat is empty. The seat belongs to Conner McKnight who is currently kicking goals on the soccer field to a very nervous goalie. He is soon caught by Ms. Randall who takes Conner with her. But not before angrily kicking the ball with super strength at the goalie. Meanwhile Ethan James and a friend are taping into the school�s sprinkler system to make it go off. As Ms. Randall is taking Conner to her office, she spots Kira Ford singing and playing a guitar. Apparently this is against the rules and prepares to take Kira with her when the sprinklers erupt. Ms. Randall spots Ethan with an umbrella and takes him in too because she knows that he did it. Ms. Randall give the kids detention for the week. Later that day Ms. Randall stops Tommy in the hall and tells him that he will have to watch over the three when they are in detention. Tommy states that he had plans to go to a museum later that day, though. Ms. Randall tells him to take them with him, and he does. They arrive at a dinosaur museum which features a large, life-like T-Rex out front, but it appears to be closed. Tommy send the three away while he sees what is up. Tommy approaches the door and sees that the museum is under Anton Mercer industries ownership now which seems to confuse Tommy. Conner, Kira, and Ethan are walking through the woods and arguing when they fall trough some sink holes. Back at the museum, Tommy notices that the dinosaur that was out front is gone. He rounds a corner to find it alive and it suddenly tries to attack him. He kicks it in the nose and runs to his Jeep. After messing with the keys, he starts it and speeds off. Elsewhere, Kira, Conner, and Ethan are now underground and arguing. Conner tries to climb out but is unsuccessful. Meanwhile Tommy is trying to outrun the T-Rex in his Jeep. He drives under an overpass which the T-Rex hits, knocking it out. Tommy get out to examine it to find that it was just a machine. Back underground, the three stumble upon a T-Rex skeleton. Conner touches its lower jaw which causes the wall in front of them to slide up and reveal a large room beyond. While exploring the room, they find an asteroid with three gems in it. They each take one. In a dark sea, an island raises up. Mesogog is on the island and sends Tyrannodrones after the three who have the gems. Conner, Ethan and Kira have exited the room to find themselves back into the woods. The Tyrannodrones show up at their location. The three run , but are eventually forced to fight. During the course of the fight, they find out that the gems they grabbed give them powers. Kira�s yellow gem gives her a high-pitched scream, Ethan�s blue gem gives him thick skin, and Conner�s red gem gives him super-speed. Using their new powers, they get rid of the Tyrannodrones. Tommy shows up soon after and they hide their gems. They debate wether to tell him about the gems or not and choose to not tell him. At school the next day, Kira says she wants out and gives her gem up and leaves the other two. She is quickly grabbed, however, by some Tyrannodrones. Much to the happiness of Cassidy and Devin who were nearby talking about not being able to get Tommy's high school records from Angel Grove. They try to get footage but are unsuccessful. In Conner�s car, Ethan and him speed away to Tommy�s because he knows about dinosaur type things. They arrive at his house in the woods to find it empty with the door unlocked. They enter the house. While looking through the place Conner touches the jaw of a small T-Rex model that Tommy has, which causes a secret passage to open. They enter the passage to find themselves in the same room that they found the gems in. They think they are alone until Tommy shows up. Elsewhere, on his island, Mesogog has Kira laying on a table. To be continued... My Thoughts: I thought this episode was awesome. The beginning especially. The way no back story was given made it even more dramatic. Its good to see that Tommy's still got it. Ms. Randall/ Elsa is one mean chick. I enjoyed how Mesogog is serious. I felt that Lothor was a little too humorous for my taste. It was good to see that the epsiode was serious yet had some funny parts to it. |
