For the first time, data on the rearrest, reconviction and imprisonment of 9,691 male sex offenders, including 4,295 child molesters, who were tracked for 3 years after their release from prisons in 15 states in 1994. The 9,691 are two thirds of all the male sex offenders released from prisons in 1994. The study represents the largest followup ever conducted of convicted sex offenders following discharge from prison and provides the most comprehensive assessment of their behavior after release.

  Highlights include the following:

Within 3 years following their release, 5.3% of sex offenders (men who had commited rape or sexual assault) were rearrested for another sex crime.

On average the 9,691 sex offenders served 3 1/2 years of their 8 year sentence.

Compared to non sex offenders released from state prisons, sex offenders were 4 times more likely to be rearrested for a sex crime.

The 9,691 released sex offenders included 4,295 men who were in prison for child molesting.

Recidivism of Prisoners Released in 1994
The United States Government and the Media are continually publishing false reports of 50 to 60% recidivism rates. This is causing constant hysteria, discrimination, vigilantism, and harrassment. The children of Sex Offenders that are living in the household are being hurt on a daily basis. Other members in the household suffer employment discrimination and other types of harrassment as well. If you or a loved one is a Registered Sex Offender, or if you are just a concerned citizen,  please help us to join the fight.
QUOTES
"We take on a burden when we put a man behind walls and that burden is to give him a chance to change. If we deny him that, we deny him his status as a human being, and to deny him that is to diminish our humanity and plant the seeds of future anguish for ourselves." Chief Justice Warren Burger.
"Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our Fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." Abraham Lincoln
"Each time a man stands up for an ideal or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope....building a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."  Robert F. Kennedy
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead
"Of all the things we have had and lost, our Freedom is what we miss the most." Michael Price
PERSONAL THOUGHTS
HALF-LIFE CHAPTER 2
Some say a lifetime, I say a half-life.
Leaving behind yesterdays strife.
Grown and wise a new lease to be found.
Limitations disposed of, the worlds my playground.

Chapter two shall be written to my liking and pace.
My expectations give plenty to live in my own chaos and grace.
I have moments to cherish, and a few I might regret
My new found freedom to be filled, but I shall never forget.

All wants and desires that have haunted my dreams
Are now for me to realize to relish and to gleam.
Lonely moments of the past fuel ambitions of today.
Open to discovery, now adventurous in my way.

Some say a lifetime, I say a half-life.
New potentials for me to realize, void of all strife.
