Milestones

I didn't keep a very good diary this month...sorry!!!  I do have some of his milestones noted though, so that should help fill in the gaps a little bit!

During this month, Tyler started eating solids.  He was introduced to rice cereal, mixed with formula.  He didn't care for that taste very much.  It was easier to give that to him in a bottle, rather than to spoon feed it.  As well as starting on cereal, we introduced him to vegetables, followed by fruits.  He absolutely LOVES peas, sweet potatoes, and butternut squash.  He did NOT like the carrots or green beans.  As for vegetables, he enjoyes applesauce, prunes, and bananas.

Tyler is finally starting to turn his head towards sound.  I guess that last month he was just trying to ignore us as long as possible to see if we'd go away!  We didn't go away, so he figured that he may as well look at us.  Maybe he thinks that by looking at us, it'll get us to stop talking.  haha!  (It's still not working!!!)

Other notable changes are that he's starting to hold his bottle.  He uses too much force right now to actually accomplish much, but he will hold it for a few seconds before it falls down.  When he holds it by himself, he presses it into his mouth with all his force.  I guess that he will eventually learn how to give it less and be able to hold it just right.

One thing that Tyler did for the first half of this month was that whenever you held him, he would put his hand under your arm to hold on, but then he'd take his fingers and pinch your underarm.  IT HURT!!!!!!!!!  There were a few times that after he did it, I would be in so much pain that I'd set him down in his crib and just go to the bathroom to rub cold water on it.  He didn't understand what he was doing, but OUCH!!!  Thankfully, that was a short lived phase that he went through.

He now bats at and grabs onto the toys on his jungle gym.  He is also holding his teddy bears "Tucson", and "Polar".  He has a big green frog that he swings with a lot of the time, but he's not quite figured out how to hold him.  Maybe it's because he's larger....I'm not sure.  He does hold onto the frog's ears though.

We're on the move!!!  As of March 30, Tyler has started rolling over!!!  He had rolled over a few times before now, but it was whenever he was mad and throwing a fit.   It also only happened when I was out of the room.  Not anymore!  He is now rolling!
