After his bath - he really liked the hot towel!

Not the best picture, but we did sort of finally catch one!  Hopefully we'll get better one soon!
BATHTIME!!!
Milestones
1/22/04 - Tyler can already pick his head up on his own.  He also has this cute little "thing" that he does with his mouth.  He puckers his lips and appears to be blowing air out.  Not like he's blowing bubbles but as if he were blowing something away!  It's cute.  We'll have to try to get it on video.  As fo sleeping & eating...he's eating about 2-3 ounces every 2-3 hours, and he sleeps through the night for the most part.  Generally we'll feed him at 11:30pm and then we get woken up by his cooing (not crying) around 3:30 a.m., so he's giving us a break at night!  After that feeding, he usually goes back to sleep and then doesn't wake us up until about 6:30a.m. and sometimes 7:30a.m.

2/2/04 - As of now, Tyler can now see a little bit further away and has been watching the ducks that are above him on the swing.  He watches them go in circles while he swings.  He's becoming more aware of his surroundings.  He's not turning his head to our voices or sounds yet, but he's right on track.  We're getting a few smiles, but we're not sure if they're true smiles or if they're from gas bubbles.  I'm starting to think that some of them are smiles at and in response to us.

2/12/04 - He's getting vocal!  He is "talking" to us every so often by just letting out long winded sounds.  He's extremely observant of everything around him.  I hold up his toy keys or rattles and he just stares at them while concentrating.  I've tried putting them in his hand, but he drops them.  He's not too keen on baths, but he LOVES the shower.

He had his Hepatitis B vaccination today (what a way to celebrate a birthday, huh?  ughh) and he did fine.  He had a delayed reaction to being poked and screamed for a little while.  He's finally over 11lbs. again, but he's still not back to his birth weight.  I really wonder if all of my extra fluid affected him as well and he just had extra fluid.  He's eating about 6oz. total every 3 hours.  At night, he's spoiling us by sleeping about 4-5 hours at a time!  Are we lucky???

2/21/04 - We're smiling now!  Not on a regular basis.  He smiles daily, but there's nothing in particular that we can do yet in order for him to smile.  Generally it's whenever we are talking to him or playing, but if we have the camera, forget it!  Soon we hope to get a smiley picture!  We'll keep you posted.

2/27/04 - We're smiling on a regular basis!  I even had one long giggle out of him.  He has done the little grunt of the start of a giggle, but I've only had one long giggle so far.  He's also up to about 4 oz. at a time, and every so often he takes 6oz.  WOW!  He's a growing boy!

3/3/04 - What happened to taking a NAP???  He's been having a few days where he just refuses to take a nap.  He must think that he'll miss something, but he really won't.....HOW do I convince him of that?  ha ha!  He's getting more of a giggle now though!  We took him outside today and planted his tree.  (For those of you that don't know...at Christmas, he had his own Christmas tree - since everyone, including the doctors were convinced that he'd be here by Christmas Day!!!  As I discussed with Tyler today....he apparently wanted Dr. Dillon to choose his birthdate, rather than him surprising us.  He's so mellow - at times.  Of course, not when he decides not to take a nap during the day.  On those days, he's miserable by 5pm, and I think that we're probably just as miserable as him!  Nonetheless.....I thank God everyday for my little miracle!
