This car started out in life as a 1972 GMC SPRINT. It is probably more rare that the SS Elcamino's. It was aquired October 11th, 1994 from a local dealer with only 48,180 miles on it.I told my roomate about the awsome car. My roomate looked at it and bought the 1 owner car in great shape for $2000. He sold it to me a few years later with 61,000 miles and it was still in incredible shape. I started restoring it into an SS in the spring of 1998. As I pulled the GMC logo off the dash there were 3 holes to hold the emblem on it said CHEVROLET so I left it!! It has been a great car, never been in any accidents and has been very problem free. I pulled out the 350 and installed a forged piston 406 SB Chevy put a 268H cam and stall converter in it. Then in 2002 I added a 12 bolt 3:42 posi. Now it has just under 90,00 miles on the clock, it has been lots of fun and a great project. |
