Quirk is an alternative rock band. Well what's that mean?
Quirk can play any style:
reggae, salsa, rock, alternative, jazz,
classical, hip-hop, funk, rock, punk, heavy metal, prog, electronica,
polka, you name it. Andrew Lappin, Andrew
Kontaxis, Timo, and Danny are all experienced
musicians who are trained in everything from jazz and classical to
rock/punk/alternative. They have many influences, mainly
Radiohead, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Sleater-Kinney, Television, The
Pixies, Pink Floyd, and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Quirk have a
lot of potential, they love playing live, and they're also very friendly. They
are all from the NJ/Bergen Country area, except Andrew Lappin who lives in
Palisades, NY.
Quirk are:
Anthony
Arbaiza - lead singer, occasional guitar player. He writes the
lyrics.
Andrew Lappin - Main songwriter/composer/arranger, part manager,
negotiation/businessman guy. Plays lead guitar and some keyboards.
Also
does occasional background vocals.
Danny Kelly - Bass guitar and upright bass and some keyboards, some
background vocals and rarely plays guitar. Part manager. Helps with
writing songs and arranging. Negotiation/businessman guy also.
Timo Stavrou - Wilson - Drums/percussion.
Andrew Kontaxis - rhythm guitar player, helps write and arrange songs.
