The Man Known as Tim

Have you seen this man?  If so run, run quickly, call the authorities or your minister this is the man known as Tim, he's a danger to polite society.  I mean look at that long hair, the beard, the leather jacket, the odd t-shirt.  He's a mad man I tell you a mad man.

Ok perhaps I exaggerate a bit but this is my buddy Tim.  Tim is a creation unto himself.  To look at him you might think hippy liberal type.  However to talk to him you'll learn he has a distinct appreciation of fascism and a love of both Japanese Imperial government and Chairman Mao Tse Tung, yes he's a bit confused but aren't we all.

Tim defies real categorization, his musical interests vary from 1900's ethno Cuban stuff to acid rock and progressive jazz.  He will occasionally go on voyages with me into Ozzy, the 80s, and KMFDM tho.  But the point is don't try and play no sissy pop music because he'll.... he'll.... well I don't know what he'll do except maybe scream or mumble.  But I assure you a scarier mumble you won't find this side of a Buddhist monestary.  That's right I said Buddhist monestary, in Tibet even, you'll sure as hell hear some mumbling there I bet.  Even tho there is that vow of silence thing.... anywho....

Tim is actually a halfway decent human being.  He introduced me to expensive, rare, and foreign booze, and good cigars and weird music.  All of which I am in his debt for.  He also introduced me to the wonders of Julia Mayes and Apalachicola.  I think I can safely say we've had some good times.  I guess we don't mesh perfectly and perhaps our relationship if functional but it works.  We run to the coast on rare occasion.  But we also run often to the Oriental markets, the flea market now and then, we run out for odd food on occasion, and we've been known for a late night run to Wal Mart on more than one occasion.  It adds spice to my existence I guess.

Tim also introduced me to the music of Bill Wharton and some really great people whom I am priviledged to have in my acquaintance.  Tim is one of the last people around who make this place still feel a little like home and I appreciate him for it.  So heres to a good guy with some really odd tastes.  Cheers Tim.
