A Place Called The Pit |

This is the Epitome, better know by those who love it as the Pit. It's Tallahassee's best coffee house but perhaps also one of the best places to tap into a touch of radicalism, hippyism, and almost anything else one might associate with alternative lifestyles. |

I learned of the Pit from my buddy Mike, who has his own page. It was about 3 years ago that he would mention the Pit in passing so I got curious. He eventually explained what the place was but to be honest I neglected going. The first time I recall being in the Pit I was only there for about 5 minutes while Mike checked to see if someone was around. I didn't get a drink I didn't even sit down but I remember the place struck me as perhaps one fo the most bizarre environments possible. Dimly lit and full of teenage and 20 somethings dressed as punks or goths. It was something quite surreal and quite engaging. |

It was shortly after this my first visit to the Pit that I was diagnosed with cancer. So I left Tallahassee having only been there once and momentarily at that. But I had heard many stories told by Mike and my buddy Tim, who also has a page. And I think even my paragon of wisdom and virtue had been there once or twice, or so it is rumored. |

This is a painting on the back of the Pit. BTW the pit is located under a couple popular night clubs and so on some nights you can watch freaks and frats walk bye its surreal. |
