I-LINK
ECHO LINK
I-Link is a software program designed specifically for Amateur Radio Operators by Graeme Barnes, M0CSH. This program allows stations around the world to communicate by voice to one another either directly, through repeaters and links, and in conference rooms. If you intend to put an I-Link station on your repeater, or create a simplex link, you must purchase an interface board. Or just want to use your computer as an access point, and get started, you can download the free USER software. (see previous page on how to get I-LINK)  I-Link works well with most sound cards, and only minor adjustment to microphone levels may be needed. It is user friendly for those of us who just want to talk, and have little hassle of settings, and menus. For people who are visually impaired, this is a great addition to the station.
Echo Link is software which allows Amateur Radio Station communicate with one another over the internet, using voice-over-IP (VOIP) technology. The program allows worldwide connections to be made between stations, from computer to station, or from computer to computer. There are now more than 3,500 registered users of EchoLink in 57 countries around the world.
