| Join us for the 10thAnnual Lake Davis Get-Together, at Lake Davis in Northern California. All are invited to this event. This year we will be meetingthe 2nd weekend of AUGUST at the Grizzly Campground. For those of you who do not know, this is a weekend campout, with a Hamswap encorporated into the event on Saturday. You don't have to camp to attend the swap. But, if you plan to join us for lunch...bring some food for the potluck...keep reading for details. Just some of the activities include, great fishing, horseshoe tournament, Stargazing, Saturday 1pm potluck, and a tailgate ham swap also on Saturday. There are lots of trees for stringing up antennas. Campsites are $18 per night, with 8 people allowed per site, extra vehicles are $5. If you plan on coming only for Saturday to visit, a $5 parking fee applies to park in the campground. Or park on the street and get in for free. There is RV sites available, and a dump station. Firewood bundles are $5 or bring your own. Campfires are allowed year round. We were a little early for the Perseid meteor shower last year, but the passes of the International Space Station spiced up our celestial viewing. This year the peak viewing will be on Sunday night, but we may still have some activity Saturday. Some of you may have even heard of our UFO sighting 8years ago.... no it wasn'tour inverted V antenna! Weather was also nice, with highs in mid to upper 80's again. Check out the Photos. This is a bring your own food event, we will not have vendors. There is a small store near the lake, and the town of Portola is only 7 miles away. You can set up yourown reservation through U.S. Trails, atreserveusa.com, (recomended if you need a long parking pad) or I will have some additional spaces. Or just pay when you get there, first come, first served. We have always had plenty of room in the past. We use Grizzly Campground, around spaces 30-55, which is the southern loop of the campground near the dam.
