About the Artist

I have been drawing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. In high school I had two excellent art teachers who taught me the joys of painting in oils. Over the years I have created and sold many paintings at convention art show  and commissioned portraits, but I have never considered myself to be a "real artist". But over the past couple of years I have been doing nothing but working a real job with one sci-fi con to break up the monotony.

At
Conglomeration this year I  met two young artists, Michael and Paul Bielaczyc, who rekindled my passion for creating art. At the same time I met Jason Sizemore, editor and publisher of Apex Digest, who gave me the opportunity to illustrate for the magazine. These chance encounters have changed the direction of my life, from one of the tedious routine of work/sleep/work, to creating art, meeting deadlines, and planning for artshows.

I am really looking forward to 2006 when I will find out if I will fall or fly as a "real artist".
